SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
To troubleshoot and support production issues that arise, as well as reduce costs, and enhance performance of our products.
REPORTS TO (Title) : Engineering Manager
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Modify existing products or develop new products with moderate scope.
Responsible for significant aspects of development engineering, including performance analysis, schedules, cost estimates, testing, and report writing.
Expected to work with only moderate supervision.
Expected to both consult with others in areas of inexperience and provide consultation in areas of expertise.
Includes the presentation of clear and concise design issues, costs, schedules, updates, and alternatives considered to senior management.
Possess solid understanding of techniques to integrate mechanical and electrical systems.
Effectively design for manufacturability; includes thorough understanding of casting, molding, machining and assembly operations.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Creativity/Ingenuity
Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
3D CAD (Creo / Pro-E preferred)
Experience with Finite Element Analysis
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, Powerpoint, and Project
Demonstrated Project Management skills involving multiple projects and deadlines.
Technical writing, communication, and presentation.
Ability to communicate and connect with persons of varying levels of technical ability.
Demonstrated ability to participate and contribute in cross functional teams involving Sales, Operations, Purchasing, Assembly, Quality, Senior Leadership.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND DESIRED ABILITIES:
Mechanical engineering capabilities required, electrical engineering capabilities preferred
Experience with Computational Fluid Dynamics
Skilled with manual shop tools, lathe, mill, drill press
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Engineering, or equivalent experience
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Office role with 25% of time spent in production environment.
Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use.
Moderate lifting is required at times.
