SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Cost / FP&A Analyst maintains and monitors cost and manufacturing accounting processes and operations analysis for the Akron and Weldon locations. The role is responsible for the timely and accurate collection and reporting of cost and inventory related financial information and cost variance analysis. This role will also be responsible for commercial and other business analytics as well as parts of the month end close process. The role participates in inter-departmental projects as required to support business decisions and profitability improvement. Position requires knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing / financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, and business operations in a growth-oriented environment.
REPORTS TO (Title) : Director of Finance - Akron
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Participate in the month-end close process, including preparation of required journal entries, supplemental schedules, and account reconciliations.
Prepares and reviews various daily/weekly operating metrics to monitor business performance
Prepares Monthly Business Review package and supporting analysis
Analyzes and reviews bills of material to ensure accurate product costing
Prepares actual versus budget analysis, manufacturing profit variance analysis, and actual to standard cost comparisons
Responsible for Fixed Asset Reconciliations and JE’s
Proposes improvements in Operations and Working Capital
Organizes and leads the annual physical inventory and cost roll processes
Participates in preparation of annual budget and forecast
Prepares quarterly EOZ analysis
Assists with Commercial and Commission analytics
Work closely with cross functional team to calculate and monitor trends of KPI’s.
Perform product line profitability, manufacturing capacity, and related analyses.
Assist in strategic inventory management goals and make vs. buy decisions.
Participate in annual audits as necessary (SOX, internal, external).
Cross-train and collaborate with other departments to analyze product costing and mfg spend.
Operate with a continuous-improvement mindset and drive for favorable business results.
Responsible to become knowledgeable of function-relevant IDEX policies and facilitate adherence to said policies within the organization.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:
Organized and able to prioritize tasks/objectives.
High level of verbal and written communication skills to work effectively outside the accounting department.
Consistently operate at a high level of integrity and uphold relevant controls.
Experience in a process focused organization (Six Sigma, Value Streams) and experience working with JDE or ERP Systems is preferred. Proficiency in MS Office applications (advanced Excel). Knowledge of Power BI is a plus
Solid working knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and the ability to research and apply accounting pronouncements as appropriate.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Degree in Accounting or Finance, CPA, CMA, or MBA a plus.
Minimum of 3-5 years of accounting/financial reporting experience in a manufacturing environment.
