SUMMARY OF PRIMARY FUNCTION

The Strategic Sourcing Manager will be responsible for developing and executing sourcing strategies that optimize costs, improve quality, and drive supplier performance to support business objectives. This role requires a proactive, analytical thinker with a strong understanding of the supply chain, market trends, and supplier management best practices. The Strategic Sourcing Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Operations, Finance, and Product Development, to drive sourcing initiatives aligned with the company’s goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Sourcing Strategy Development :

  • Design and implement comprehensive sourcing strategies for key categories, identifying cost-saving opportunities, quality improvements, and risk management tactics.

  • Conduct market research and spend analysis to benchmark and understand sourcing opportunities within the industry.

  • Funnel management and execution of cost savings targets.

  • Supplier Management & Negotiation :

  • Develop and manage relationships with key suppliers, ensuring high performance in quality, cost, and delivery (KPIs).

  • Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing agreements to secure favorable conditions that align with company goals.

  • Evaluate and select new suppliers based on the company’s standards for quality, reliability, and cost-effectiveness.

  • Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Partner with teams in Operations, Product Development, and Finance to align sourcing activities with business needs and growth initiatives.

  • Support new product launches by coordinating with suppliers to meet project timelines, quality standards, and budget requirements.

  • Support Aftermarket / Service parts by coordinating with suppliers to meet Service requirements.

  • Continuous Improvement & Risk Management:

  • Identify and implement continuous improvement opportunities in sourcing processes, supplier performance, and cost structures.

  • Proactively manage supplier risk by evaluating potential disruptions and developing contingency plans to maintain business continuity.

  • Data Analysis & Reporting:

  • Monitor sourcing performance metrics and KPIs, analyzing data to report on cost savings, supplier performance, and project progress.

  • Provide regular updates to leadership on sourcing strategy effectiveness, market conditions, and recommendations for sourcing enhancements.

  • Work with the purchasing team on cost, source information, lead-time, and other appropriate information to the production environment.

  • Management may assign or reassign duties and responsibilities.

REQUIRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or a related field

  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing, supply chain management, or procurement experience, with a proven track record in supplier negotiation and cost management.

  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and drive decision-making.

  • Excellent negotiation and contract management abilities.

  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the capacity to build relationships and collaborate across functions.

  • Proficiency in sourcing software, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and ever-changing work environment with multiple deadlines.

  • Proactive, creative and a hands-on change agent, have team building and rapid execution abilities, be self-motivated with the ability to “think on your feet’ with a ‘can do’ approach to work.

  • Self-Starter who can creatively drive continuous improvement on their own initiative with as needed guidance.

PREFERRRED FOR THIS POSITION

  • Master’s degree

  • Experience and expertise in one or more relevant categories such as flat steel, rod/spring wire, aluminum, glass, stamped and roll-formed components, and/or corrugate is preferred.

  • Accreditation from ASCM, ISM, or other professional supply organization.

  • Advanced analytical skillset using Excel or others like Python, SQL.

  • Proficiency of using and building data visualization tools like PowerBi or similar.

  • Project Management Certification.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $97,400.00 - $146,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
