SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITES :
The Staff Accountant will have exposure to and responsibility for several key general accounting activities. Primary responsibilities will be providing timely and accurate monthly journal entries, supporting schedules and account reconciliations. The associate will be a self-motivated, resourceful, hands-on Finance professional who can manage simultaneous projects in a demanding but rewarding organization. The individual must have exceptional organizational skills, must be approachable and must work collaboratively with internal and external teams. The ideal candidate will be self-driven and willing to go the extra mile to achieve the company's goals.
REPORTING TO : Reports directly to the site Controller
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Processes monthly journal entries in compliance with financial policies and procedures.
Maintain schedules used in month end journal entries and reporting. Complete reporting in OneStream. Identify process improvements as opportunities arise.
Perform daily bank reconciliations and provide analysis for accurate cash forecasting.
Generate and support service billings and reporting.
Calculate and file monthly sales tax reports.
Support commission and rebate calculations and filing.
Work closely with internal and external auditors. Pull documentation support and complete audit templates.
Perform all monthly controls, including all reporting and support schedules. Resolve open issues.
Perform account reconciliations accurately and resolve all reconciling issues timely.
Work with other Finance personnel and cross-functionally on key projects as needed
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES
Degree in Accounting and/or Finance
Minimum of 2 years of accounting/finance experience, previous staff accountant experience in a manufacturing environment preferred
Excellent verbal and written communication skills to work effectively outside the accounting department
Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards.
Proficient in excel (pivot tables, vlookup, sumif, etc.)
Experience with large ERP, especially JDE preferred. Experience in OneStream preferred.
Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the business operations staff and to provide timely suggestions for cost reduction and margin improvement. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.
