Position Summary:

This is a full-time position in which you will be working in the Microfluidics Applications Laboratory at Westwood, MA. In this role, your main responsibility will be performing lab tests by utilizing various models of Microfluidics processing equipment to process customer samples of dispersion or emulsion materials within a variety of industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, nutraceutical, and cosmetics. You will also need to analyze processed samples when applicable, write comprehensive test reports and support customers’ applications related issues. To ensure the success of the testing, you will need to interact with both external customers and multiple internal functional teams such as Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and Engineering. Additional responsibilities may also include internal supports for product and applications development through research and analysis of test data.

Reports To: Manager, New Technology & Applications

Essential Functions:

Position requirements include, but are not limited to:

  • Engage with potential customer to understand customer’s needs and objectives to initiate tests and provide necessary documentations and communications.

  • Perform lab tests with potential customers’ materials using proprietary fluid processing equipment.

  • Assess the resulting materials using analytical equipment and write comprehensive test reports.

  • Interact with customers to convey test results and deliver value proposition.

  • Provide process support/consultancy to customers, travel to customers’ sites when necessary.

  • Provide training and applications support to channel partners and customers.

  • Marketing support - generate content for marketing materials and support lead generation activities by going to trade shows, seminars, and presenting webinars.

  • When needed, help evaluate new designs for our core technology by a combination of experiments, analysis, literature searching and customer collaborations.

  • Ability to travel nationwide and internationally on an occasional basis.

  • Ability to work on site at least 3 days per week.

  • Other duties, as assigned.

  • Must interface effectively and regularly with: Internal and external Sales, Customers, Engineering, Customer Service, and Marketing.

Education and/or Experience:

  • Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science, or related field (Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Biochemistry preferred), or equivalent experience

  • Zero to three years of technical related experience.

Language Skills:

  • Excellent written, organizational, communication and presentation skills

  • Able to efficiently face and interact with customer

Computer Skills:

  • Good computer skills, Microsoft Office Software such as Word, Power Point, Excel, Outlook and Teams

Other Qualifications:

  • Hands-on mechanical skills with medium to large scale equipment

  • Able to handle hazardous materials safely, including identification of hazard, selection of proper handling process in line with Microfluidics Safety Guidelines and execution of work, including safe disposal of test material.

  • Basic knowledge of pneumatics and electronics

  • Experience with production and characterization of nanomaterials instrumentation would be desirable
