Position Summary
This is a full-time position in which you will be working in the Microfluidics Applications Laboratory. In this role, you will utilize various models of Microfluidics processing equipment to process customer samples of dispersion or emulsion materials within a variety of industries such as pharmaceutical, biotech, chemical, nutraceutical, and cosmetics. You will also test mechanical components using standardized testing procedures. Additional responsibilities include interacting with Sales, Marketing, Customer Service, and providing assistance to the Engineering and Operations Departments through research and analysis of test data.
Essential Functions
• Perform process development with potential customers’ materials using proprietary fluid processing equipment
• Assess the resulting materials using analytical equipment and write comprehensive test reports
• Interact with customers to understand customer needs, convey test results and deliver value proposition
• Evaluate new designs for our core technology by a combination of experiments, analysis, literature searching and customer collaborations
Provide process support/consultancy to customers
Provide training and applications support to channel partners
Marketing support- Generate content for marketing materials and support lead generation activities by going to trade shows, seminars, and presenting webinars

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
EDUCATION
- Bachelor’s in Engineering, Science, or related field (Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, or Biochemistry preferred), or equivalent experience
EXPERIENCE
Ideally, 1 – 3 years of related experience, however we will consider new graduates
Basic knowledge of pneumatics and electronics
Experience with production and characterization of nanomaterials instrumentation would be desirable
COMPETENCIES
Hands-on mechanical skills with medium to large scale equipment would be a definite asset
Strong customer service orientation
Good computer skills, Microsoft Word, Power Point, Excel
Excellent written, organizational, communication and presentation skills
Physical Environment and Environmental Factors
Experience working with hazardous chemicals
Able to travel nationwide and internationally on an occasional basis
Able to lift and carry 40+ lbs. on semi-regular basis
