The Quality Assurance Inspector performs inspection of parts, subassemblies/assemblies, products and/or materials for quality and conformance to designed specification by visual comparison, adjustable gauges and test sets.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
Performs inspection of optical components and metal parts
Approves incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
Documents inspection results by completing reports and logs; summarizing re-work and waste; inputting data into quality database
Uses good judgment to resolve internal and supplier quality issues
Keeps measurement equipment operating by following operating instructions; monitoring their calibration status
Ability to challenge fellow employees regarding quality
Ability to prioritize workload
Ability to work well independently
Complies with health and safety policies and procedures
Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
- One-year certificate from college or technical school; or three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience
OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:
Ability to read and understand technical drawings and specifications
Minimum of one-year previous experience using computer and measuring instruments (Zygo interferometers, SmartScope, Stylus profiler, Optical Comparator, Laser Ruler, Oscilloscope, and other machines or equipment tools required to complete duties and responsibilities listed above)
Experience with interpretation of GD&T drawings
Ability to interface with all manufacturing departments
Ability to compile data for analysis
Comply with the Clean Room Protocol when entering a clean room environment
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading technical publications
Personal protective equipment and clean room attire, as required
Proficient computer skills (Microsoft Word/Excel)
High degree of accuracy and/or alertness required
Familiarity with special terminology as related to the manufacture of optical lens and related products
This job position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations. Therefore, all employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status. Per the IH&S LLC Export Controls Policy and Procedure, the employee must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident
