PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary purpose of the Laser Manufacturing Supervisor position is to provide supervision of all functions of the Manufacturing, Materials, Equipment and Facility Maintenance activities for the Laser Production Value streams including 488, CRH, PNL, Bullet, and Hi Power Green along with the electro-mechanical, opto-mechanical, and testing activities that support these product lines.

A successful supervisor will ensure compliance to company and employee standards while leading by example. This role will interface daily with production planning to ensure attainable schedules are in place and then deliver as expected. The supervisor must be able to set priorities and work cross-functionally to resolve production issues, escalating when appropriate.

PRINCIPAL DUTIES:

  • Ensure the efficient operation of all aspects of production including work centers, direct labor staffing, and managing production capacity, yield improvement and cost reduction, efficient process development, career development of direct reports, and workplace safety.

  • Ensure appropriate staffing levels of qualified personnel to meet demand requirements by managing staff training and raising staff performance levels.

  • Ensure the adherence to operations-related processes and procedures.

  • Meet or exceed on Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost goals thru proper scheduling and allocation of resources

  • Interacts with Support groups including Supply Chain, Sustaining Eng, and Quality to get needed help

  • Supports company values of TEAM, TRUST, & EXCELLENCE

  • Manages staff of up to 20, including annual and mid-year reviews

  • Other duties may be assigned.

OTHER DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead daily management meetings to update Safety, Quality, and Delivery metrics daily

  • Collect data for monthly update reports, graphs

  • Make recommendations for continuous improvement

  • Comply and enforce all health and safety policies and procedures

  • Comply and enforce Clean Room Protocol when entering a clean room environment.

  • Review attendance/punctuality

  • Write performance appraisal, salary increases, promotions

  • Motivate, mentor, coach, delegate

  • Recommendations for hiring, terminating employees

PRIMARY QUALIFICATIONS:

  • BA/BS in a technical field or business with 2+ years of manufacturing experience.

  • Experience in Lean Manufacturing and Capacity management

  • Manufacturing experience on a technical assembly line preferred

  • Production Planning experience desirable.

  • At least two-years of supervisory experience

  • JDE or Oracle experience is preferred
