SCOPE OF ROLE:

This position is responsible for assembling and testing opto-mechanical and electro-optical components. Help as needed in all areas of assembly department. This position works in a clean room environment, additionally this position will need to have full understanding of working protocol in a class 100/1000 CR, associated cleaning techniques, monitoring of environment to ensure class 100 integrity and coordinate activates with the test department for product conformance to ATP along with proper packaging. Procedure writing and monitoring of process to ensure we are adhering to procedures is part of the job responsibilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Assemble doublets and prism

  • Assemble simple lens and barrel combination

  • Assemble clean room product.

  • Guide as needed assembler I and II personnel

  • Cosmetic inspection of incoming and outgoing product

  • Measure lens characteristic (center thickness, diameter, etc)

  • Work as per MRP systems

  • Clean assembly main work area and PCR

  • Input data to spreadsheet for engineering rebalance

  • Complies with health and safety policies and procedures.

  • Supports company values including ethical conduct and high integrity in all actions.

EDUCATION/TRAINING/WORK RELATED EXPERIENCE:

  • Associates degree in optics and 6 years’ or equivalent combination of education andexperience.

LANGUAGE SKILLS:

  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.

REASONING ABILITY:

  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.

  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS: None

OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

  • Comply with the Clean Room Protocol when entering a clean room environment.

  • Ability to measure in metric and micron range

  • Ability to work with specific computer software - Excel, Word, and e-mail

  • Familiarity with special terminology – Excel, Word, and e-mail

  • Interact with coating

  • Interact with assembly personnel

  • Interact with Optical/Mechanical Engineers

  • Interact with Q.C. personnel

  • Interact with visitors as needed defined by Manufacturing Manager

  • Interact with machine shop and glass shop key personnel
