Key member of the procurement team, working with cross functional departments to ensure customer obsession, by developing and maintaining proactive supplier relationships while ensuring competitive pricing and effective stock control for your assigned commodities. Maintaining a daily structure for MRP and resulting tasks with a drive to succeed in your individual KPI’s and helping to improve, consolidate and optimise department processes.

REPORTS TO: Purchasing Manager


  • Action MRP messages in a timely manner

  • Ensure all Purchase Orders are acknowledged and line narrative updated

  • Run Weekly Open Order Books and update with push back and pull forward requests

  • Update Red Message report on a daily basis

  • Maintain safety stock levels

  • Be the main interface with suppliers for assigned commodity group

  • Develop a strategy and strategic direction of the assigned commodities, ensuring best value and quickest and most suitable sources for company

  • Optimise Black and Red message output

  • Analyse supplier resources to ensure continued development support.

  • Work with suppliers and quality team with the aim of improving supplier performances and reducing outstanding NCN’S

  • Help develop and maintain expert knowledge of commodity’s global supply market and ensure a suitable knowledge base is maintained for the company via buyer master sheet.

  • Identify cost saving opportunities

  • Building relationships with Key Suppliers

  • Manage Inventory, ensuring stock levels are kept at appropriate levels to facilitate business performance

  • Negotiating best prices and delivery timescales for freight inwards

  • Ensure that a professional and consistent approach is taken in relation to all supplier relationships

  • Engage interest and participation of others and have a collaborative approach to working with others

  • Update New Part Huddle in a timely manner

  • Negotiate and put in place Supplier stock holding agreements for your supply base

  • Ensure all excess materials are approved via the EOZ process
