IDEX EHS and Training Manager in United States

The Environmental Health Safety (EHS) and Training Manager is charged with creating an effective strategy for managing the ADS vehicle fleet and organizing a well thought out training program. The goal for this position is to engage with the workforce to understand their work and incorporate the challenges they face into their approach. Emphasis should be placed on creating streamlined and effective programs that add value and are results driven. To succeed in this role you will have a passion for continuous improvement and developing a positive cultural change.

Primary Duties:

  • Manage fleet vehicle program and oversee outsourced fleet management company.

  • Manage training program and safety related training in Learning Management system.

  • Provide technical advice, coaching, guidance and mentoring to managers and employees on safety initiatives and necessary changes.

  • Support company commercial and business development initiatives as needed.

  • Lead and support employee led safety committees.

  • Develop awareness initiatives that reinforce Safety program and encourage employee involvement.

  • Assist with development and maintenance of safety related policies and procedures.

  • Perform safety surveys and inspections, prepare written reports of findings and recommendations for corrective and preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

  • Complete the process for close out of Investigation Reports and prepare/submit lessons learned.

  • Ensure training, toolbox meetings, and drills are implemented as part of the company’s HSE and training program

  • Give presentations about current safety hazards to educate others about avoiding health, safety, and environmental hazards.

  • Support development and rollout of safety initiatives based on pre-identified topics monthly.

Required Skills:

  • Bachelor's Degree in safety, engineering, or equivalent science degree, or 5+ years’ equivalent professional experience in a Safety role

  • Demonstrated commitment to safe working practices

  • Proven team player skills with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships

  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision

  • Ability to maintain forward motion on key deliverables

  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills

  • Strong mentoring, training, and coaching skills for less experienced personnel

  • Able to travel up to 30% of the time

Preferred Qualifications

  • Preferred 5+ years’

  • Experience in fleet safety (Driving, Compliance, Hours)

  • Experience providing safety related training classes.

  • Experience working with outsourced fleet management companies.

  • Self-motivated to learn and stay on top of new technologies.

  • Able to train others in new technologies that safeguard people.

  • Experience with MyGeotab or similar telematics software.

  • Experience with HSI or similar training suites.

  • Experience with Benchmark Gensuite or similar reporting software

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $83,500.00 - $125,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
