Micropump, Inc., the world leader in the design of low-flow precision pumping solutions, is currently recruiting a Mechanical Engineer at the Vancouver, Washington site. This is a salaried, exempt position reporting to the Engineering Manager.
Description : The Mechanical Engineer will support the design and development of new and existing pump products for fluidic systems.
They will assume responsibility for engineering projects, and will apply sound engineering judgment, leadership and mechanical and hydraulic principles, to develop solutions and products recognized by customers as superior in function and performance.
Assumes technical Project Management responsibility for engineering projects moderately complex in depth and breadth, and guide projects through the Product Introduction Process.
Uses Solidworks to model components and assemblies and then generate production drawings for Manufacturing and Assembly.
Utilizes knowledge of Manufacturing Processes like Machining and Molding to design new components and qualify their production.
Creates innovative fluid system solutions to meet business objectives through the development of new or modification of existing parts, products, and technologies.
Applies analytical, modeling, and prototyping skills to prove the feasibility of a solution and develop a marketable and manufacturable product.
Performs hands-on work to solve problems and perform test protocols to validate the design meets the specifications and the customer’s expectations.
Works closely with all departments to assure designs meet all specifications and requirements.
Actively participates in company’s commitment to ISO standards, Six Sigma, and other corporate initiatives.
MSME/BSME or equivalent required.
Experience with Solid Modeling/Drafting tools like Solidoworks
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers, and co-workers.
Experience with molded and machined plastics, machined and formed metals, and assembly techniques.
Experience in product and process design and/or technology and project management experience.
A minimum of four years’ experience with mechanical assemblies used in fluid systems.
Ability to travel internationally

Must have Authorization to work in the United States, and be able to have lawful access to controlled technology as required for this position.
