Position: Material Handler
Location: Micropump, Vancouver, WA
Position is 30 hours a week and reports to the Planning Manager. The Material Handler will be an essential position in implementing cycle count procedure, backing up shipping and receiving, picking up parts from the manufacturing shelves, and making inventory transactions among other things.
Coordinate the cycle count process and results.
Pick up parts from manufacturing, verify the count and proper transactions have taken place, and then put away.
Train in and backup the shipping and receiving department.
Performs duties and tasks required to be in compliance with the U.S. Customs and Border Protection and the U.S. Census regulations for submitting information via the Automated Export System for all shipment releases outside the continental U.S. borders.
Packages customer orders to prevent any damage in transit. (i.e. bubble wrap/proper box size and all product is boxed).
Checks goods against shipping/receiving documents and authorizations, packs goods for shipment according to distribution grids and customer specifications, posts weights and box dimensions, and attaches information and shipping labels on boxes.
Perform research and document significant inventory discrepancies and drive to root cause and corrective action.
Manage “blue card” process.
Other duties as assigned.
Demonstrate knowledge of inventory and warehouse management processes.
Demonstrate knowledge of lean processes, tools, and one-piece flow.
Demonstrate computer literacy.
Demonstrate ability to work well in a team environment.

Excellent analytical and interpersonal skills.
Must have strong communication and demonstrate good organizational skills; good follow-up techniques.
Be available to work off hours during physical inventory as needed.
Must be able to multitask.
Must work well in fast pace environment.
Demonstrate responsibility, respect, dependability, patience, and productivity in order to create a positive work environment.
Basic math requirements, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division.
Ability to read, understand and carry out written and verbal instructions.
Must have strong record keeping and documentation skills to assure that all required documentation is completed for all packaging and shipments.
Must be detail oriented and goal driven.
Operate a forklift at times if needed.
High School Diploma or GED required.
Inventory management experience preferred.
Material handling experience, preferred.
Experience with JDE (JD Edwards) system, preferred.
Ability to learn and understand lean principles.
Forklift certification, preferred.
Work Environment :
Working in manufacturing environment.
Job requires ability to bend, twist, turn. Repetitive use of hands and arms.
Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to loud noises in the plant area.
Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, safety glasses, gloves.
Lift up to 50 lbs.
