Responsible for achieving work cell level metrics through overall administration of staff and process flow within a multi-shift manufacturing operation. Direct schedules and coordinate with peer managers to meet deadlines while ensuring highest level quality standards are met in achieving best-in-class service to our customers. Maintain excellent communication with peer functional supervisors and managers within operations team. Lead and drive employee training, development, engagement and structure within respective work cells.


  • Provide direct leadership through focus on cell level metrics in pursuit of continuous performance improvement. Engage employees to offer ideas for process improvements and changes identified to lower quality fall-out and improve productivity through conversion cost reduction.

  • Conduct daily meetings as required to coordinate Daily Management updates, communicate objectives and current performance vs. objectives; obstacles in the way and offer of solutions to overcome.

  • Support workplace safety initiatives within area to resolution with heightened sense of urgency.

  • Maintain visual management within assigned cell(s) to provide targeted deliverables.

  • Promote a sense of urgency with detailed action plans and actions to ensure measureable success.

  • Drive a Lean Culture using techniques in resolving bottlenecks within production flow (offer solutions relating to manpower, methods, tooling, fixtures, or materials).

  • Capture and minimize production scrap using an 80/20 (Pareto) business approach.

  • Review daily labor demand per cell. Schedule employees by shift as needed to meet daily demand.

  • Ensure successful cross-training plan is executed across assigned cells through review/updating of current SOP’s, skills assessment of current team and implementation of robust training process.

  • Conduct employee performance reviews through goal-setting, mid-point and year-end reviews.

  • Participate in interviews and recommendations through the selection processes.

  • Capable in resolving employee performance issues in an effective, fair and resolute manner.

  • Ensure proper transactions occur to ensure inventory accuracy.

  • Assist in planning, testing or inspection sequences, tool or equipment care and maintenance, and methods within the work area.

  • Administer application of company personnel and policies, timecard administration, safety/health,and routine employee policies.

  • Keep peers and/or functional managers informed of actual or anticipated schedule problems, material shortages, tool or equipment problems, procedural deficiencies, safety, housekeeping or material handling discrepancies or employee relation matters that may come to their attention.

  • Provide an effective response to Quality related issues to prevent reoccurrence.

  • May perform other related duties as assigned.


QUALIFICATIONS (Education / training / experience / eligibility)

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Manufacturing / Technology, orequivalent is preferred.

  • Minimum 2 years proven shop floor operations leadership / supervisory experience in a multi-functional manufacturing environment

  • Working knowledge and experience in Lean manufacturing concepts and techniques with exposure to Kanban managed supply chain, preferred.

  • Ability to understand and interpret blueprints and engineering specifications.

  • Must have Authorization to work in the United States.

  • Solid computer skills; useful to gather and report necessary data to support area of responsibility.

  • ERP system experience required- Oracle JD Edwards preferred. Excel experience is important.

QUALIFICATIONS(Knowledge / Skills)

  • Must be knowledgeable in administrative procedures; production and/or engineering documentation, work schedules, set-ups, methods and procedures; equipment operation

  • Good leadership, coaching, communication and training skills.

  • Must be knowledgeable and able to perform safety and housekeeping requirements; as well as other associated material, administrative, operational or employee relations matters that may affect their work area or assignments.

  • Evidence of good problem-solving skills within a mechanical operations environment.

  • Must possess necessary interpersonal communication skills, written, verbal and other technical skills to properly direct, assist and train personnel.
