JOB SUMMARY:

STC’s FP&A Manger reports directly to the Finance Director and plays a vital role partnering on strategic business initiatives and providing insight into key operational performance and commercial metrics. This position plays a vital role in the reporting and analysis of financial results to the local management team as well as to the IDEX corporate finance team. This role will collaborate with local management to pull together and publish the monthly and quarterly forecasts, and the annual operating plan (budget). Likewise, you will support the local management team with budget versus actual reports and help them to understand and act to correct variances. The role also involves inventory reduction efforts and the valuation of inventory on a periodic basis.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Prepares monthly forecast for full PL and Working Capital, analyzes variations vs previous forecasts and other benchmarks

  • Provides in-depth analysis of actual performance for key performance indicators and generates commentary for business leadership

  • Updates cost and expense trend reports and analyzes deviations vs recent forecast

  • Collaborate with the Accounting team during the month and quarter end close

  • Participates in the annual strategic planning and budgeting processes including establishing assumptions, spreadsheet modeling, consolidation, analysis, and presentation preparation

  • Assists with the design, development, deployment, and maintenance of all internal FP&A Reports.

  • Drives continuous process improvement through automation and streamlining of activities

  • Partners with the Product Manager for the costing analysis of new products / major product revisions and annual review of standard product costing

  • Assists with business justification analysis for Strategic initiatives and capital expenditures

  • Assists in leading annual 8020 and detailed “bottom-up” P&L review, working cross functionally to understand resource allocation and make recommendations for change

  • Consolidates reports for presentation for the monthly review of the business

  • Serves as one of the key points of contact for corporate finance functions

  • Prepares ad-hoc financial analysis to support senior management decisions

  • Support integration into new parent company.

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Degree in Finance, Accounting or related finance fields. MBA is a plus

  • Minimum 7 years of relevant FP&A experience required

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment with close knowledge of inventory / cost accounting is preferred

  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint skills

  • ERP environment: JD Edwards/OneStream experience preferred

  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills

  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards

  • Ability to organize multiple responsibilities and deliver results in an accurate and timely manner while adapting to changes in priorities

  • Detail and process oriented

  • Self-starter with a strong sense of urgency and follow-up skills. Ability to work in a multi-cultural environment

  • Ease in handling large data sets to derive conclusions or examine patterns or anomalies.

  • Works effectively in a team environment, within and outside of the Finance Department.

  • Working knowledge of SQL a plus.

WORKING CONDITIONS:

Work is normally performed on site in St. Albans, Vermont. Office work is performed in a climate-controlled office environment, but substantial time on the shop floor is required, which can be noisy and dusty, as well as hot during the summer. Proper safety equipment is provided by STC where necessary. Travel is anticipated to be a low percentage of the time.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Work involves standing and walking for moderate periods of time, with some duties performed from a seated position. There is potential for eyestrain from reading detailed materials and computer screens. Deadlines, workloads during peak periods, and changing priorities may cause increased stress levels. Work may include occasional lifting and carrying objects or pushing/pulling carts weighing approximately 50 pounds, such as products, tools, gages, and equipment. Work normally requires finger dexterity and eye-hand coordination to operate computer keyboards at a moderate skill level. Repetitive motion injuries may occur. The company will provide adaptive devices as needed.
