SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

The Site Leader is responsible for the manufacturing of quality, safety, maintenance, and overall operations of the manufacturing facility. The Site Leader is expected to implement and coordinate the strategic plan for quality, manufacturing, and distribution of products focused on delivering the business objectives while meeting the expectations and needs of the customer. Creating an environment where employees are safe and can focus on creating a quality product.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Works with sales and marketing to determine sales channel requirements.

  • Works with process owners to ensure that KPIs are collected to monitor progress.

  • Visits distribution and OEM partners to monitor execution of commercial strategy and attends trade shows.

  • Identifies new business opportunities.

  • Collaborates across F&S business units to achieve group targets.

  • Develops strategic and tactical plans in pursuit of growth and profit objectives.

  • Enables legal compliance, accounting controls, financial planning and forecasting, human resource review and employee communications.

  • Responsible for all product assembly and subcontract operations and quality thereof

  • Global logistical management relating to materials, components, and assembly sourcing as well as finished goods distribution

  • Manufacturing engineering process development, controls, and measures

  • Direction of production, shipping, and quality resources

  • Measured objectives include inventory valuation and turns, on-time delivery, shipment quality, product quality, purchase price variance, labor/oh variance

  • Meeting both company and departmental objectives established by the company.

  • Broad customer pack/ship demands (distribution and OEM)

  • Low volume, high value production model balanced by subcontract for high volume, lower value products

  • Review financial statements, sales or activity reports, or other performance data to measure productivity or goal achievement or to identify areas needing cost reduction or program improvement.

  • Oversee the remodeling or renovating of current facilities

  • Analyze data to inform operational decisions or activities.

  • Analyze financial records to improve efficiency.

  • Direct organizational operations, projects, or services.

  • Manage environmental sustainability projects.

  • Plan facility layouts or designs.

  • Participate and actively support the Occupational, Health and Safety (OH&S) management system (MS) program.

  • Accountable for supporting the (OH&S) policy.

  • Hold employees and supervisors accountable for following established health and safety procedures, rules and discuss EHS at the department level and supervisor meetings.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources.

  • Knowledge of principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.

  • Knowledge of principles and procedures for personnel recruitment, selection, training, compensation and benefits, labor relations and negotiation, and personnel information systems.

  • Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data. Knowledge of economic and accounting principles and practices, the financial markets, banking and the analysis and reporting of financial data.

  • Knowledge of raw materials, production processes, quality control, costs, and other techniques for maximizing the effective manufacture and distribution of goods.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • BS degree in Production Management or Engineering OR relevant work experience/ certifications

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience within manufacturing operations with increasing levels of team leadership responsibility

  • Background in LEAN and proven leadership in continuous improvement required

  • ISO 9001 experience highly preferred

  • Supplier development and/or commercial contract negotiation preferred

  • Ability to work on-site 5 days per week in Shelby, NC - Will consider candidates that need to relocate from within the United States
