POSITION SUMMARY
The Supply Chain Manager will lead both Purchasing & Strategic Sourcing functions for Airtech. The candidate will develop, prioritize, and execute sourcing initiatives that reduce supply chain complexity and improve business continuity. In addition, this role will be responsible for improving supplier performance, developing a best-in class supply base for critical components, and ensuring an accurate account of inventory. This leader will report to the VP of Operations and work closely with peers in Engineering and Finance.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
8020 & SUPPLY CHAIN MANAGEMENT
Collaborates with engineering & commercial leaders to set inventory levels needed to execute order demand.
Identifies supply chain risks and implements counter measures that improve part availability, prevent stock outs, and accelerate backlog execution.
Leads the purchasing team in managing daily demand signals, purchase orders, and expedite requests.
Drives 8020 principles deeper within the organization by implementing Plan for Every Part (PFEP) program.
Establishes and leads the business processes for import compliance.
STRATEGIC SOURCING
Develops strong relationships with key suppliers; fosters an environment of open communication & accountability.
Leads development of contract strategy; including negotiating, establishing, monitoring and enforcing supplier agreements with a focus on cost productivity, production capacity, and component quality.
BUILDING GREAT TEAMS
Directly leads and expands a team of buyers, planners, and category managers.
Mentors & coaches team members across the organization; provides constructive feedback to professionals in Supply Chain, Sourcing, and Operations.
Conducts thorough performance reviews that highlight each team member’s contribution, strengths, and areas for improvement
Actively engages in Daily Management, Monthly Business Reviews, and GEMBA walks.
MEASURES OF SUCCESS
Reduces Supply Chain Complexity through 8020
Increases Supplier OTD and Quality performance
Improves Inventory Turns
Becomes business leader for import compliance
Skills & Qualifications (Required):
5 – 10 years of experience in Purchasing, Strategic Sourcing, or Materials Management roles
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business or any other relevant degree
Track record of supply chain performance in a high-volume, high-mix manufacturing business
Strong interpersonal communication skills; ability to manage effective relationships
Strong Excel and MRP/ERP experience
International/Domestic travel up to 20% of time
Skills & Qualifications (Preferred)
Experience with Oracle or SAP ERP (Oracle- JDE experience preferred)
Experience in international sourcing and logistics, experience with suppliers in Asia and the EU
ISO9001 experience
