SUMMARY

The Quality Inspector Level II is an intermediate level position responsible for performing standardized quality control checks on products to ensure they meet the required legal and company standards for safety and quality. Other requirements include maintaining calibrated test equipment and preparing test data.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.   • Ensure parts are inspected to meet production goals, including cycle time, quantity and quality.

  • Operate Aberlink and Zeiss automated Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) software to measure and analyze data.

  • Accurately align parts on the CMM and identify relevant features for measurement.

  • Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT) principles to accurately measure and inspect parts.

  • Interpret CMM measurement data and identify potential quality issues.

  • Perform dimensional inspection as per applicable inspection plan. Measure and check dimensions and tolerances using measuring devices, including (but not limited to) calipers, micrometers and gauges.

  • Read and interpret intermediate-level blueprints and drawings.

  • Complete inspection reports with results as displayed on the equipment.

  • Record non-conforming material within the proper logs and alert supervisor as required.

  • Perform necessary transactions in ERP system to maintain accurate inventory.

  • Perform daily maintenance on CMM equipment; conduct routine checks to ensure equipment is within calibration and functioning safely and properly.

  • Maintain a clean and safe workplace. Perform daily 6S activities to ensure organization and cleanliness of work area.

  • Other duties as assigned

Education and/or Experience

  • High school diploma or GED or related experience and/or training: or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience in inspection utilizing automated equipment (CMM, vision system)

  • Intermediate understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)

  • Previous experience working within an ISO9001 certified facility preferred

Qualifications

  • Proficient in the use of basic measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, air gauge, etc..)

  • Ability to read and understand basic engineering drawings

  • Ability to assess visual drawing requirements

  • Ability to work alone with minimal supervision

  • Ability to collect data and interpret results

  • Must demonstrate a good attention to detail and the ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing

  • Basic math, computer, and keyboard skills to work within the ERP system

  • Must be 18 years of age or older

  • Must be authorized to work in the US

  • Shop floor working environment.

  • Employee may work in a loud environment.

  • Appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) is required at all times in the shop floor.

  • Noise Level is minimal with intervals of spikes.
