IDEX Product Manager in Rochester, New York

POSITION SUMMARY

The product manager’s primary role is to manage the lifecycle of a product portfolio, including managing product positioning within a specific market segment and execution of a marketing plan, that leads to share gain and achieving revenue and profit targets.

The Product Manager will identify competitive gaps, emerging market needs and adjacent markets and execute commercial and product changes that lead to growth above the market rate. Reports to the Director of Sales and Innovation and works closely with Pulsafeeder’s Senior Leadership Team.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Owns a set of defined products and is the “go-to” within the company for knowledge of those products and their position in the market.

  • Works cross-functionally to manage the overall life cycle of assigned product lines including product changes, inventory needs, OTD and quality to ensure products are positioned competitively globally.

  • Identifies customer needs/ pain points, adjacent markets, and competitive gaps that lead to future growth opportunities for Pulsafeeder.

  • Supports the New Product Development (NPD) process from ideation through new product offering and consistently achieves targets and specifications they set for these projects.

  • Develops content and delivers training for marketing/sales enablement and post-sales support.

  • Leads product line analysis, working with commercial finance analyst to identify trends.

  • Monitors product pricing vs. the competition, leads product specific price/margin improvement initiatives and participates in global price changes.

  • Partnering with Engineering, Operations, Sales, Operations, and Marketing to make adjustments to the product line, products, and related features to drive both market share and financial results

  • Is a core member/leader of strategic initiatives and the Goal Deployment Process (GDP) to accelerate growth within assigned product lines.

  • Forecasts multiyear sales growth for product portfolio and executes cross functional action plans to deliver the results.

  • Trains internal and external distribution teams to support sales of new/existing product lines.

  • Assist with the capture of the “voice of the customer” and key stake holders.

  • Monitors technology trends to identify emerging opportunities for Pulsafeeder.

  • Uses 80:20 analysis to identify price equity opportunities between large and small customers and between high volume and low volume products.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

Experience

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Management required

  • 5+ years of experience in chemical metering/ positive displacement pumps preferred

Education

  • B.S. degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering field required

  • Strong technical aptitude and customer facing skills.

  • Drives results through action planning and setting SMART goals.

  • A team player with the ability to enable changes in business processes and the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.

  • Requires exceptional project management, analytical and problem solving skills. Strong interpersonal, organizational and customer service skills.

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications and data base management required.

  • Customer obsession: sense of urgency on problem solving, empathetic listening,collaborative partnership etc.

  • Proactively drives for results and communicates to extended team and key stakeholders regarding the product line and plans

  • International experience a plus.

  • Travel (up to 25%) will be required.

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $94,600.00 - $141,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
