IDEX HR Manager in Rochester, New York

PRIMARY FUNCTION

The HR Manager will provide hands-on and strategic responsibility for the execution of Pulsafeeder human resource processes including talent acquisition, talent and organizational analysis, strategic planning and leadership development, and day to day HR activities. Partners with Pulsafeeder Mid-Level leadership team at both Rochester, NY and Punta Gorda, FL Pulsafeeder sites to drive business objectives, functional strategies, and GDP initiatives supporting Pulsafeeder’s growth goals. HR site lead (Rochester) for day-to-day collective bargaining agreement interpretation and issue resolution. Will participate and contribute to ad hoc HR projects locally and at the IDEX corporate level, as assigned. Works with a high level of confidentiality and discretion in dealing with sensitive employee or organizational information.

Position is based in Rochester, NY, a unionized manufacturing facility, and may require incumbent to travel to Punta Gorda, FL for quarterly visits, as needed. Pulsafeeder is a business unit of IDEX Corporation

PRIMARY JOB DUTIE S - Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to, the following:

Talent Acquisition

  • Develop and execute a recruitment plan that aligns with business objectives, anticipate turnover, proactively assesses external market conditions, and ensures the casting of a "wide net" to attract qualified diverse candidates to the organization and ensure talent in place to meet productivity goals and strategic deliverables.

  • Develop, execute, and maintain an inclusive onboarding process that allows for effective and timely assimilation into culture and business.

Employee and Labor Relations

  • Point person for interpretation and guidance relative to collective agreement, company policies and procedures. Work closely with Operations and Union leadership on interpretation and issue resolution.

  • Guide the performance management process for both managers and employees. Manages employee issues and union grievances to satisfactory resolution and provides guidance to supervisors and managers addressing employee issues and grievances. work closely with Corporate legal team to ensure proper handling of all issues, including Performance Improvement Plans (PIPs.)

Compensation Planning

  • Coordinate annual Salary Planning Process, develop and align compensation plans to drive desired employee and business performance. Monitor competitive pay landscape and recommend adjustments, as needed.

Talent & Organizational Development

  • Champion of Pulsafeeder Culture, Integrating IDEX values specifically the tenants of Great Teams into the Pulsafeeder culture.

  • Coordinate and manage training initiatives focused on developing the Mid-Level Leadership team, skills training, and management development programs.

  • Lead Mid-Level Talent (OTC) Review process including Annual/Quarterly Talent Reviews, Succession Planning, and Career development plans (IDPs) for scalable professional talent. Partner with Mid-Level Leadership to apply talent development strategies and action plans

  • Participate in organizational analysis and HR strategic planning for Pulsafeeder organization.

  • Facilitate the Employee Engagement (iSAY) survey process and drive development and implementing action plans improve engagement and maintaining IDEX top quartile engagement for Pulsafeeder year-on-year.

  • Lead annual Performance Management and Goal Setting cycles

  • Develop and implement opportunities to drive Diversity, Equity and Inclusion activities into the culture of Pulsafeeder in partnership with IDEX programs

HR Administration and Compliance

  • Ensures organizational compliance with labor laws and guidelines including but not limited to Recordkeeping, Federal and local DOL, EEOC, OSHA reporting, AAP, VETS, etc.

  • Manage third party vendor relationships for employee programs

  • Support HR Director and Operations/Site Leaders in development of site contingency, SH&E and emergency readiness planning & preparation.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field.

  • Minimum of 5 years in in Human Resources Generalist role with 2 years of HR management experience role preferably in a unionized manufacturing environment or a combination of education and experience

  • Labor relations and previous experience negotiating labor contracts, required

  • Successful track record of recruiting, developing and retaining scalable talent

  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with employees at all levels of the organization.

  • Strong initiative, excellent communication, and interpersonal skills..

  • Ability to create a culture of diversity, inclusion, collaboration, and teamwork.

  • Experience with analyzing data to guide strategic decisions (employment, engagement, etc.)

  • Strategic leader able to gain trust and confidence of leadership

  • Demonstrates initiative, creativity, and exercises sound judgment.

  • Organized, detailed and excellent at managing resources, data and time.

  • Ability to make sound decisions and solve problems while working under pressure

  • Proficient with Workday or similar HRIS system; MicroSoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio.)

  • Ability to travel to Punta Gorda, FL site on a quarterly basis, as needed.

  • PHR/SPHR Certification, preferred.

  • Authorization to work on an on-going basis
