IDEX Commercial Finance Manager, Systems in Rochester, New York

This position will support the IDEX Health & Science strategy to provide better solutions, grow sales, expand margins and generate strong cash flow. The individual will maintain a financial reporting/internal control system that will provide management with the appropriate financial and operating information. They will develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance, operational excellence and other criteria that directly reflect the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the business unit.

The Finance Manager actively participates with the Management Team in the planning, direction, and policy making and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the business unit. Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the Systems Business Line Leader and Sr. Director of Finance, and frequent communication with peers and IDEX group management. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork and professionalism.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Partners, supports tactical and strategic initiatives with leadership team through financial analysis, forecasting and budgeting.

• Partners with a primary Business Line Leader & staff in managing the business line.

• Responsible for monthly order & sales forecasting, reporting & analysis.

• Responsible for the Business Line monthly business reviews.

• Manages the financial analysis and development of business case justification for future product development and strategic investments including analysis and understanding of new pricing.

• Monitors, analyzes, & researches selling price realization and margin deviations.

• Applies accounting theory and IDEX policy to insure proper revenue recognition.

• Supports investment decisions by providing return on investment/net present value/etc. calculations and applies appropriate benchmarks to maximize returns.

• Prepares capital requests for review and submission to management team to support the business line needs.

• Ensures all compliance with legally mandated external financial reporting, including the Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements.

• Prepares and consolidates financial statements and ensures timely and accurate financial results for the business. Prepare detailed analyses of financial statement results for presentation to the Sr. Director of Finance, including cost trends, customer profitability, product line profitability and variance analysis.

• Ensures proper controls and effective use of ERP system to drive controls and efficiencies.

• Assures that an effective financial plan for the control of operations by implementing and effectuating an adequate control environment. Guarantee the accuracy and ongoing maintenance of the financial system and ensure that the JDE ERP system operates smoothly.

• Drives, supports and utilizes the Company’s process improvement initiatives.

• Provides coaching and cross training of the finance team.

JOB QUAILIFICATIONS

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field required. (Business, Finance, Economics, etc)

• MBA preferred.

• CPA or equivalent preferred.

• 10+ years’ experience in progressively more responsible finance roles in a manufacturing-based,

industrial environment preferred. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to all facets of the

function, particularly operational finance, control, and financial planning and analysis. Excellent

cost accounting / standard cost knowledge in a multi-level complex manufacturing area.

• An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, cost accounting in complex manufacturing

environment, practices, procedures and controls on manual and automated systems, and the

ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures. Proven

experience with US GAAP and SOX requirements.

• Excellent analytical and forecasting skills, and the ability to translate complex situations into

information that will support the profitability and growth of the business.

• Experience managing a business systems function; have an in-depth working knowledge and

application of personal computers, including reporting systems such as OneStream or Hyperion.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is needed.

• Experience in a process focused organization and experience working with J.D. Edwards, SAP,

or another ERP System (order to cash) is required.

• PowerBI experience preferred

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $106,800.00 - $160,200.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
