PURPOSE

Assembler will be responsible for the daily work in any assigned position(s) by the Manufacturing Manager or Team Lead. This includes the flexibility to move among different production line(s) and working with different employees to support the overall daily production plan. Work closely with team members to identify process gaps and work to optimize internal processes in a way that provides the best customer service, quality and teamwork.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Manufacturing Manager

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

  • Work on production line, pay attention to instructions from supervisor/line lead who directs the flow of work ensuring the pace meets expectations

  • Monitor metrics as assigned (production measurements)

  • Communicate any defects or other problems to supervisor/line lead using data. Clearly describes the defect in detail so that improvement can be implemented.

  • Responsible for meeting customer expectation of performance, quality, OTD, etc.

  • Responsible for ensuring that all production material is available on the line.

  • Responsible for working 5S on the line at all times enforcing best practice.

  • Complies with required use of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Steel Toe Shoes, Gloves, etc.)

  • Participates in Operational Excellence Processes (Continues Improvement Events, RIE’s)

  • Complies with scheduled work hours and Attendance Policy

  • All other duties assigned by Manager

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Adherence to all safety regulations and proper and safe storage of parts.

  • Responsible for upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of my employment with the Company and to personally abide by the IDEX Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics Policy.

EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION

  • 0-5 years manufacturing experience

  • Experience using JDE software

  • Attentive to detail

  • Must be able to perform positions on the production line within established standard time requirements (to be demonstrated at any time, without notice).

  • Must be able to calculate any required metrics

  • Must be able to operate all equipment on trained line.

  • Ability to read, write and follow verbal and written instructions

  • Must know 6S and maintain it on primary line, while respecting it for all other lines.

  • Must be able to train new employees in their jobs

  • Ability and desire to work in a fast paced environment

  • A team player with the ability to enable changes in business process and the ability to work cooperatively with all levels of the organization.

SKILLS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

  • Requires lifting boxes weighing up to 50 pounds

  • Requires standing for 8 to 10 hours per day

  • Use of air and electric power tools

  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people

  • Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environment

Total Rewards

The starting compensation for this position is $23.38 per hour. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
