IDEX Production Line Lead in Punta Gorda, Florida

PURPOSE

The Production Line Lead is responsible for ensuring the manufacturing of items in the production plant are carried out efficiently and on time. The Production Lead is also responsible for carrying out the daily production schedule, monitoring quality, flow and safety on the production floor.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIPS

Reports to the Manufacturing Supervisor

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/TASKS

  • Be a contributing member of the value stream assembly process, who sets the example for quality, productivity and performance of the Value Stream.

  • Monitor and follow closely the efficiency of the shop floor to the level loading Mythology.

  • Keeps the assigned assemblers informed of plans, events, changes and other business information.

  • Assure that the assigned work areas are maintained to be clean, orderly and in an organized condition constantly looking to achieve higher levels of 6S.

  • Enforces the usage of Personal Protective Equipment (Safety Glasses, Hearing Protection, Gloves, etc.)

  • Monitor and report daily performance metrics on cell board, including safety, quality and delivery.

  • Minimize disruptions to the flow within operations; helps create standard work for what to do when flow is disrupted; resolve or escalate issues/obstacle to get timely resolution as needed.

  • Works with Warehouse Team Lead to investigate part shortages.

  • Monitors product quality frequently, reporting problems to mitigate safety issues.

  • Operates various pieces of equipment (i.e. Palletizer, Dolly Loader, Pallet Wrapper, and Forklift).

  • Utilizes continuous improvement mindset and assists in identifying opportunities to improve processes.

  • Follows good manufacturing practices and required work safe practices.

  • Runs and investigates negatives driven by produced products. • Reports out on On-time delivery.

  • Responsible for pulling and packing of our top customers shipments on a weekly basis.

  • Performs other duties as assigned by Manufacturing Supervisor

ACCOUNTABILITY

  • Adherence to all safety regulations and proper and safe storage of parts.

  • Responsible for ensuring that receipt is only made with the proper paperwork.

  • Responsible for upholding the highest ethical standards in the conduct of employment with the Company and to personally abide by the IDEX Standards of Conduct and Business Ethics Policy.

EDUCATION LEVEL, SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE, TRAINING, LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS REQUIRED FOR POSITION

  • Must be able to drive a forklift and become certified

  • Computer knowledge (JDE Knowledge)

  • Attentive to detail

  • Pulling, packing, and loading experience preferred

  • Receiving, stocking, and stacking experience preferred

SKILLS AND/OR PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS OF POSITION

  • Requires lifting boxes weighing up to 40 pounds

  • Requires standing for 8 to 10 hours per day

  • Ability to work harmoniously with diverse range of people

  • Ability to work in non-air-conditioned environment
