Purchasing Manager (Hybrid Work Schedule)
Flow Management Devices (FMD) is a Design Build Manufacturing of Small Volume Provers supporting a niche market in the Energy Industry (Oil & Gas Market) located in Phoenix, AZ. We are searching for a Purchasing Manager responsible for leading a team of buyers, managing all purchasing activities, supplier management, and vendor relationships. This role is both hands-on and strategic, operating in a dynamic and autonomous environment reporting to the Director of Supply Chain.
Works with the Supply Chain Director develop strategy and consolidate and manage supplier base.
Evaluates Quotations for quality, delivery, and cost considerations
Selection of suppliers including: Negotiate Price, terms, and conditions with suppliers
Works cross-functionally in close collaboration with Engineering, Operations, and Finance teams
Uses a variety of tools to drive supplier delivery and quality improvements while assuring compliance with corporate policy
Develops team members, champions employee engagement, and remains focused on critical business objectives (Must be able to build a strong team)
Maintains inventory of parts, within assigned components/ parts, to meet appropriate inventory while maintaining production schedules. (Striking a balance between support production and keeping working capital in check)
Works closely with the Shipping & Receiving team to control inventory levels by monitoring turns by line item, supplier, and commodity.
Determines targets and action plans to achieve proper inventory levels to support OTD (maybe combine this one with two above)
Uses MRP (JDE) to maintain proper inventory levels.
Tracks and controls inbound freight costs ensuring market price is being applied.
Reviews/signs off ECN's, ensuring proper inventory levels are maintained not impacting EOZ or production.

Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Engineering, or Supply Chain or minimum of 5 years’ experience in a purchasing position or related experience in manufacturing
Minimum 3 Years Managerial Experience
Mechanical and technical aptitude to understand engineer documents and blueprints
Intermediate to expert negotiating skills
MRB Knowledge is required (JDE experience Preferred)
Will perform other or special projects as needed
Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook
Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex and perform general office functions (lift 25 lbs)
Ability to Travel to suppliers as needed (up to 10%)
