IDEX Production Planner in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Production Planner is responsible for developing and maintaining short and long-term plans and performing all required duties related to planning, scheduling, and expediting for specified families of product to maximize customer service, minimize inventory, and make efficient use of purchased resources. Daily work will include releasing orders for manufacture, reviewing BOM’s & routings, coordinating intra-plant priorities, and coordinating with other departments. Follow standardized practices, policies, and procedures with minimal supervision, and select alternative methods where appropriate to achieve service and investment goals.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

  • Develop Master Production Schedule in system to prepare requirements for purchased and manufactured parts

  • Identify trends in the Forecast Consumption, communicate gaps and actions required

  • Maintain desired inventory levels to meet production and aftermarket requirements and company working capital goals

  • Develop balance between existing and future client demand needs with manufacturing and vendors to ensure completion of client requirements

  • Development of the master schedule/JDE work order plan for assembly build by manufacturing cell

  • Work order release and maintenance of due dates in the JDE business system (machining and assembly)

  • Initiate and annotate the Backlog Report on a daily basis.

  • Drive continuous improvement through value stream, cost reduction and quality.

  • Establish baseline schedules and support estimate development

  • Communicate real time risk and opportunities of schedule to key stakeholders

  • Ensure integrity of data flow to feed MRP

  • Ensure continuous improvement on cycle times and resolve any KPI issues

  • Performs other duties as required

  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company

  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output

  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers

  • Other duties as assigned

Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s Degree

  • Minimum one (1) year of experience in Materials Planning, Supply Chain in manufacturing environment.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft applications (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.)

  • Ability to analyze and reconcile material issues

  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in work

  • Demonstrate good organizational skills and good follow-up techniques

  • Must be able to multitask

  • Advanced computer skills

Preferred Education and Experience:

  • Minimum of three (3) years of related buying experience

  • APICS certification or equivalent

  • Knowledge of ERP/MRP with JD Edwards

Work Environment:

Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
