Summary/Objective
The Sr. Director of Finance & IT for IDEX Advanced Flow Solutions (AFS) will play a key role in leading the financial & IT operations. This position in partnership with the Business Unit President will provide comprehensive leadership to the business’s management teams in support of IDEX initiatives and its strategy to maximize the combined strengths of its Business Unit to provide better solutions, expand margins and generate strong cash flow. The position requires extensive knowledge of U.S. GAAP and manufacturing / financial reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley, and business operations in a growth-oriented environment.
This individual will develop, direct and maintain a financial reporting/internal control system for the company that provides management with the appropriate financial and operating information and decision support. He / She will develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of growth, profitability, liquidity, operational excellence and other criteria that directly reflect the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the organization.
This key member of the leadership team will significantly influence the long-term direction and growth of the business by their ability to effectively analyze and redirect its resources through accounting and financial reporting that meet or exceed the requirements of its internal and external customers.
Our business is a $115M+ growth-oriented business unit comprising of 2 distinct revenue streams. The position will have 3 direct reports and 10 indirect reports. The position reports directly to the Vice President Finance & IT – Energy Platform and provides operational finance support to the AFS business unit President and senior leadership team.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
• Direct Finance & IT team and assist business unit President and senior leadership teams in the development of strategic plans and supporting objectives, while proactively managing supporting events to assure attainment of agreed upon performance.
• Manage the company’s accounting & IT functions including general ledger, monthly closings and statutory requirements. Also direct the financial reporting, financial planning, forecasting, budgeting and product & business line profitability analyses.
• Ensure effective cost accounting, inventory accounting and project costing / tracking processes across the business including control of physical inventories.
• Instill financial discipline and rigor into investment analyses and justification, capital appropriation and capital budgeting processes.
• Ensure company’s compliance to corporate internal policies and procedures and legally mandated external financial reporting including Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements, Trade Compliance and Anti-Corruption; manage the interface with internal/external auditors.
• Deployment and application of IDEX Operating Model core processes based on needs of the business to assist in achieving defined organizational, financial, and business goals.
• Building and development of a high performing and scalable team including talent pipeline and succession planning
• Direct preparation of detailed financial analyses and management reporting results for presentation to the business unit President and senior leadership team (AFS), Segment and IDEX Senior Management.
• Coordinate and administer an effective financial plan for the control of the company’s operations by implementing and effectuating an adequate control environment.
• Drive, support and utilize the company’s OPEX process improvement initiatives including 8020.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance required.
• 10+ years of relevant work experience in a similar-sized operation, including heavy management experience in financial and manufacturing accounting. Cost accounting expertise is required.
• Experience in a process focused organization (80/20, Value Streams, Lean) and experience working with JDE and OneStream is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.
• Must have a proven track record, demonstrated by a progressive level of growth in responsibility.
