The CNC Programmer will develop, program, evaluate, troubleshoot, and recommend CNC machine tools, utilizing personal computers, CAM software, and DNC systems.

Essential Functions

  • Review and obtain the required information from tool drawings, fixture drawings, part prints, and associated documents in the development of efficient CNC programs and related materials

  • Work with operators, supervisors, process technicians, and any other areas to optimize old and new processes and assist in training of these processes to improve quality and cost of the product

  • Recommend new or revised tooling, fixtures, equipment, software, and any process improvements to support Corken, Inc. and its customers

  • Purchase tooling/machining supplies to support machining process

  • Conduct special studies, assist on capital research, serve on special teams, and provide support for SPC or other quality initiatives as required

  • Conduct time studies or create estimates for machine/cycle times and update routing information for accurate product costing

  • Keep supervisor informed of operations, problems, and opportunities as they arise

  • Take positive action to advance personal knowledge of manufacturing technology, CNC programming, CAM software, DNC technology, and related information

  • Maintain appropriate records and documentation to assist in the control and evaluation of programming operations

  • Assist in the development of a safe working environment through the use of occupational safety and health standards, including ergonomic principles

  • Performs other duties as required

  • Responsible for aiding in own self-development by being available and receptive to all training made available by the company

  • Plans daily activities within the guidelines of company policy, job description, and supervisor’s instruction in such a way as to maximize personal output

  • Responsible for keeping own immediate work area in a neat and orderly condition to ensure safety to self and co-workers

Required Education and Experience

  • High school graduate is required.

  • Manufacturing technical degree desirable.

  • Minimum 2 years Varied CNC operating experience

  • Minimum 5 years working in CNC programming demonstrating a high degree of proficiency.

  • General math, geometry, and trigonometry experience required.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office products including, but not limited to, Word, Excel, and Outlook.

  • Knowledge of computer basics required.

Additional Eligibility Qualifications

  • Requires extensive knowledge of machine processes, capabilities, and resources available.

  • Visualization ability required.

  • Must have the ability to effectively communicate with customers, suppliers and all levels of leadership.

Work Environment

Exposure to manufacturing environment. Noise level may vary from moderate office environment to noisy/loud in the plant area. Proper use of safety equipment such as steel-toed shoes, goggles, safety glasses, gloves, apron and face shield must be observed.
