IDEX Business Development Director, Aviation & Defense, Americas (REMOTE) in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma

The Business Development Director, Aviation & Defense, is a strategic member of the AFS Commercial Team responsible for defining, developing and driving growth within the commercial and military aircraft refueling markets in the Americas. This position will work with channel partners (OEM’s and Distributors), third party integrators, fuel marketing companies, airlines and service contractors to drive advanced electronic smart measurement solutions in this space. Working closely with product management, engineering, and the integration teams, the BDD will assure customer/market needs align with both NPD development and growth targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Growth & results

  • Partner with specialized aviation OEM and distribution channels to drive deep integrations with AFS meters and electronic systems.

  • Assure maximum penetration by maintaining an effective and efficient channel.

  • Work with third party/industry automation suppliers to standardize AFS electronics in their systems.

  • Manage strategic product and channel alliances, promoting partnerships that foster the integration of AFS products with other industry principles.

  • Collaborate with sales and business line leaders to accelerate strategic initiatives, increasing market share.

  • Focus on new 80-sized opportunities by maintaining a robust opportunity pipeline.

  • Collaborate with VP, America Sales to optimize the Buy Cycle Funnel™ process.

  • Marketing, strategy, and NPD

  • Work with VP, America Sales to develop product and market/business strategies.

  • Provide insight to Marketing with the development of pricing strategies, literature and other promotional functions.

  • Provide market insight/input to product line strategy and NPD.

  • Develop annual sales forecast, and provide updates as required.

  • Build working relationships with cross-functional peers.

  • Build market and product expertise

  • Foster relationships in the Aviation and Automation spaces.

  • Participate in industry events including tradeshows, expos, conferences, and industry meetings.

  • Build a deep understanding of product solutions and value they deliver to end-users.

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Technical Field or equivalent work experience

  • 10+ Years successful sales experience working in B2B and with OEM’s/Distribution

  • 7+ Years of experience selling metering and registration equipment

  • 7+ Years of experience selling in the Energy markets (Aviation, Oil and Gas Industry)

  • Effective communication skills, (verbal, written, and electronic)

  • Experienced in business, market and product strategy

  • Exceptional technical aptitude, with a focus on Electronics

  • Effective organizational and project management skills

  • Strong coaching and training ability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing and managing a sales funnel process

  • Existing relationships with AFS channel partners and electronic integrators

  • In-depth understanding of fueling systems and equipment

  • Knowledge and familiarity with AFS products

  • Aviation market experience

Travel

50% travel, typically in the United States

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $117,500.00 - $176,300.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
