The Senior Manager, Talent Development will be responsible for designing, managing and delivering multiple global talent development programs, assessment strategies and initiatives to build the management and leadership capabilities and pipeline to support the growth of our business. This highly visible role will partner with the VP, Talent Management & Development, Senior Talent Development Specialist, HR business partners and business operations leaders to develop effective senior leaders, managers, key talent and high performing teams for IDEX. There will be opportunity to own leadership learning solutions from end-to-end, ensuring alignment to critical business priorities and measuring impact. This role will involve strategic and creative program design, engaging and collaborating with global leaders and stakeholders, and hands-on management of program details, while also learning from customer feedback to improve the learning experience and content. This role will also have an opportunity to help create and evolve approaches to address our employees’ development needs at scale. This position will be based at our Corporate Headquarters in Northbrook, IL. Please note: the role will start remotely.
Specific Responsibilities Include
Design and implement global talent development programs to identify and retain top talent, facilitate internal promotions, and enhance overall capability of talent at IDEX
Own IDEX Academy programs for General Manager, Manager and New Leader development, from talent selection criteria through assessment process, program curriculum development and on-going support
Partner with VP, Talent Management & Development in design and delivery of senior leader development experiences and global leadership conferences
Support enterprise talent pipeline strategy development, deployment and tracking
Facilitate development program content in physical and virtual settings
Lead coordination of logistics, materials, and assessment administration to support programs
Evaluate current talent development offerings and programs to ensure top quality content and experiences, and identify opportunities to enhance impact and new offerings as needed
Identify opportunities to scale talent development offerings and provide on-demand learning and development resources for a larger global audience
Collaborate with senior Operations business leaders and HR business partners on program content design and delivery, as well as continuous support of key talent development
Advise and consult with HR business partners on global talent developmental offerings, and approaches and tools for individual and team development
Select and manage third-party vendors, including annual contract negotiations
Drive innovative approaches to learning and development and guide improvements to methodologies and processes
Effectively identify and track metrics to be able to articulate ROI of talent development initiatives
Support development process for key talent, including coaching and development planning
Bachelor’s degree required; Master’s Degree in Organizational Development, Industrial & Organizational Psychology, Human Resources Management, Education or related field preferred
5+ years in a progressive Talent Development or HR experience, delivering leadership development across multiple geographies
Experience in at least one of the following: Instructional Design or Curriculum Design; at least 2 years of full-cycle program design experience preferred
Experienced facilitator and coach
Strong communication and writing skills
Excellent interpersonal and influencing skills to establish trust, credibility and collaborate effectively at all levels of the organization
Demonstrated strengths in problem-solving, issue resolution and attention to detail
Strong project management skills; able to manage multiple projects and prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
Able to deal with ambiguity; adaptable and flexible to changing requirements
Excellent consultative approach and listening skills
Proven ability to roll up her/his sleeves and demonstrate initiative and results-orientation, with a constant focus on service delivery
Experience with assessment-for-development tools and use of psychometric instruments
Experience with virtual program design/delivery, on-demand and e-Learning preferred
Experience with people leadership preferred
Ability to travel up to 10-20% of the time, including international
Experience in manufacturing or similar industry preferred
