POSITION SUMMARY:

This position will support the SFC-Koening Americas strategy to provide better solutions, grow sales, expand margins and generate strong cash flow. The individual will maintain a financial reporting/internal control system that will provide management with the appropriate financial and operating information. He/she will develop, analyze and interpret statistical and accounting information in order to appraise operating results in terms of profitability, performance, operational excellence and other criteria that directly reflect the fiscal soundness and operating effectiveness of the SFC business unit. Additionally, this position will lead and develop the local finance staff of 1-2 individuals. This Finance Manager actively participates with the Management Team in the planning, direction, and policy-making and communicates and supports the strategic and operational plans of the business unit. Success in this position requires the ability to build a strong partnership with the General Manager and Global Finance leader, and frequent communication with peers and IDEX group management. These relationships must be built on respect, integrity, cooperation, teamwork, and professionalism.

POSITION FOCUS:

  • Provides financial analysis, forecasting, and budgeting & strategic support to the General Manager

  • Ensures all compliance with legally mandated external financial reporting, including the Sarbanes-Oxley reporting requirements

  • Prepares & consolidates financial statements and ensures timely and accurate financial results for the global business

  • Provide detailed analyses of financial statement results for presentation to the VP of Finance for SFC Global, including cost trends, customer profitability, product line profitability, and variance analysis

  • Directs the overall accounting function including accounts payable, general ledger, and monthly close

  • Directs the cost accounting and inventory accounting processes

  • Assures that an effective financial plan for the control of operations by implementing and effectuating an adequate control environment

  • Ensure the accuracy and ongoing maintenance of the financial system and ensure that the SAP system operates smoothly

  • Supports investment decisions by providing ROI/net present value/calculations/applies benchmarks to maximize returns

  • Oversight of the credit and collections function; drives/supports and utilizes the Company’s process improvement initiatives

  • Provides coaching and encourage the talent development of the finance team

KEY SCOPE & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • An in-depth understanding of accounting principles, practices, procedures, and controls on manual and automated systems, and the ability to exercise independent judgment within established systems and procedures (including US GAAP)

  • Excellent analytical and forecasting skills, and the ability to translate complex situations into information that will support the profitability and growth of the business

  • Ability to work collaboratively with virtual teams and processes that transcend the international regions

  • Can Develop talent & build strong teams. Demonstrates the ability to persuade others to achieve excellence and to foster an environment of openness and teamwork; a supportive manner that facilitates his/her ability to achieve results

  • A strategic thinker/problem solver who can effectively interface with all levels of employees in an international environment. An ability to analyze the details, but also to be able to step back and “look at the big picture”

  • Consistently operates at the highest level of integrity and is never willing to compromise with regards to ethical standards

  • Requires approximately 15% travel

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience in progressively more responsible financial positions in a manufacturing-based, industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have prior exposure to all facets of the function, particularly operational finance, control, & financial planning and analysis

  • Degree level in a relevant field (Business economics and/or Business Administration, Controlling, Qualified Accountant) Equivalent of CPA and/or MBA preferred (Example: ACA, CIMA, RA, Msc. Economics)

  • Proven experience with US GAAP and SOX requirements

  • Experience in managing a business systems function; have in-depth working knowledge and application of personal computers, including eBusiness applications and reporting systems such as Hyperion. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is needed

  • Experience in a process focused organization and experience working with J.D. Edwards, SAP, or another ERP system, is required

  • A successful candidate should be driven by the principles of continuous improvement and talent development
