A highly motivated Senior Product Manager is sought to join the IDEX Health & Science (IH&S) fluidics team focusing on the invitro diagnostics, biotechnology (IVD/Bio) and analytical instrument markets. Coordinating with RD&E and manufacturing teams this person will own one or more of the fluidic product lines with responsibility to achieve sustained product line growth.
This role is responsible for all aspects of assigned IH&S fluidic product lines that have a significant impact in our target markets including advancing genetic sequencing and diagnostic applications with tangible impacts that advance science or patient care. This includes product planning and execution throughout the full product life cycle such as gathering market information assessing new opportunities, product rationalization, product launch and overall product line vision.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
Own assigned product lines in the IVD/Bio fluidics market.
Coordinates, prioritizes and monitors active projects to ensure that functional groups involved and meeting objectives to bring projects to targeted customers.
Collaborate with and educate the sales force to cultivate new opportunities.
Builds relationships with customers and monitors key “Critical-To-Customer” product requirements to ensure the company maintains a competitive advantage.
Regularly communicates voice of the customer (VOC) information to the organization and acts as the customers’ internal champion to ensure functional groups are addressing product gaps for customers.
Willingness to continually learn and educate themselves about new markets, technologies and products.
Responsible for growing the sales of products annually.
Supports other Product Managers and Market Development Managers during multisite and product line opportunities. Communicates frequently and ensures alignment.
Provides regular updates to functional leaders and senior management.
Supports Marketing Communication (MARCOM) activity relative to product data sheets, market advertising campaigns, trade show selection and attendance, sales training materials.
Maintains product pricing and associated pricing policies consistent with the target market for the product.
Works closely with Operations and Finance to understand the key elements of product costs.
Organizes and monitors the sales forecasting process for synthesizing customer forecasts.
Must be able to travel approximately 25% of the time.Must be comfortable traveling in geographic locations where customs and cultures are unfamiliar.
Provides guidance to customer service and order fulfillment functions.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant engineering or science field;
A minimum of 8+ years of experience in product management;
Proven experience in taking a significant new product from product concept through launch;
Self-starter who finds a way to get the job done – high energy level, and persistent;
Strong collaborator with prior experience leading in a matrixed global organizational structure;
Strong financial acumen; able to understand impact of negotiation points on a business relationship;
Familiar with a variety of marketing concepts, practices and procedures;
Excellent communication, public speaking and presentation skills;
Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (written and verbal) with customers and internal management and work within a team environment;
Strong computer proficiency is a must with an emphasis on MS-Office applications;
DESIRED EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Holds an MBA or other relevant advanced degree
3+ years of experience in business-to-business sales
Familiar with fluidic or optical components in laboratory instrumentation
Experience selling or marketing laboratory instrumentation
