IDEX Applications Engineer in Mansfield, Ohio

PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Responsible for providing application engineering assistance to domestic and international customers. Provides technical support to sales representatives, resellers and customers during the sales process and performs technical sales support at customer sites or on a multiple-site basis. Assists customers to identify their technical specifications and determine what documentation is required to incorporate the organization’s products into customer applications.

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Handles incoming calls and electronic mail concerning the following in a timely and professional manner: application and installation inquiries, troubleshooting and any technical issues which may arise

  • Continuously listen to customers and build relationships; provide solutions that are personal and tailored to the individual needs of each customer with the goal of enhancing their overall experience with Warren Rupp

  • Review pump specifications and project inquiries

  • Review content of ECN's and communicate information as applicable

  • Processes special and custom construction product requests

  • Assists with direct, in-house, and field service seminars

  • Supports outside Sales staff and Customer Service Representatives as needed

  • Works with other Technical Service Representatives to maintain departmental technical information

  • Recommend new product concepts based on direct market feedback

  • Assists with reports and projects as they arise

  • Maintains departmental logs and reports

  • Assist After Sales Support with troubleshooting, installation questions, evaluate returned product for warranty evaluation, generate failure analysis report and repair order.

  • Assist or initiate quote activity and follow up with targeted accounts utilizing CRM tool.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Participates in Value Add / Value Engineer (VAVE) activities

  • Collects data for predetermined metrics

  • All other duties as assigned

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or a related field plus a minimum of 3-years of experience in a technical field, or equivalent combination of education and experience

Specific skills, knowledge, and/or licenses:

  • Strong technical aptitude

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access required

  • Pump experience a plus

WORK ENVIRONMENT REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to move within office and manufacturing complex.

  • Regularly required to talk or hear; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; and sit for extended periods of time

  • Occasionally required to lift objects up to 40 lbs.

  • Occasionally required to stand; walk and reach with hands and arms

  • Noise levels are usually quiet, occasionally moderate

  • Occasional travel to customers/distributors expected – up to 10%
