Summary
The Production Manager provides all production floor and production personnel management for all employees engaged in manufacturing, shipping, and other production activities essential to Toptech's business objectives. Three Assemblers and one Shipping & Receiving Clerk report to the Production Manager. This person will be cross trained in those roles to serve as backup.
This role is also responsible for all buyer planner functions including ensuring global import and export, OSHA, ISO, and ATEX requirements and compliance are met. The buyer planner function schedules and obtains materials, components, equipment, and services as required by the production schedule, facilities maintenance, and administrative functions. Additionally, the buyer planner function determines material requirements from production schedules and maintains inventory at planned levels, staying consistent with financial goals. This person prepares requests for quotation, gathers bids, and negotiates contracts and purchase commitments for goods and services. They plan, schedule, and monitor the logistics controlling movement of material thru the supply chain. They monitor cost, timely delivery, and quality of purchased goods and services to assure best quality at best value.
This role will be cross trained as backup to the Director of Engineering & Production. This person should be willing to tackle stretch opportunities and have a growth mindset.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: (other duties may be assigned)
Provide technical supervision of product manufacturing and system assembly.
Direct, in the most productive manner, the activities of production employees involved with module level assembly, final level assembly, inspection, rework, testing and quality assurance.
Assist production with material management and production scheduling activities.
Review system-drawing packages and BOMs to ensure an accurate reflection of "as-built" equipment.
Analyze and resolve sub-standard components processes and workmanship, which may compromise productivity or quality of finished products.
Suggest changes about corrective action for improvement.
Provide occasional backup and or assist in shipping/receiving, inventory, and relocation of equipment or fixtures.
Oversee safety program, ensuring OSHA and Toptech's safety requirements are met.
Ensures adherence to ISO and ATEX requirements
Works with engineering team to provide on time and quality conformance in new product introduction.
Acts as the purchasing agent for Toptech Systems.
Manages vendor relationships from Vendor selection to contracts, purchase order issuance through contract completion.
Acts as the Trade Compliance Officer for Toptech Systems and is ultimately responsible for import and export compliance.
Manages the Facility Activities and coordinates, with outside vendors, maintenance, and upgrades of the facility.
Acts as the liaison between the Landlord/Property Management Company and Toptech Systems.
Responsible for reporting on and implementing EH&S activities in conjunction with the Human Resources Department.
Responsible for maintaining and implementing Disaster Response Protocol in conjunction with Human Resources and the General Manager
Meets with Sales Account Managers to adjust production schedules to facilitate meeting changing customer demand.
Schedules systems through manufacturing configuration process and staging process to satisfy lead times and promised ship dates.
Analyzes historical data to assist in preparation of forecasts and schedules.
Reviews, provides input and structure for bills of materials. Coordinates with Engineering to maintain bill of material accuracy.
Prepares open order reports and analysis to assist in measuring production performance and planning.
Schedules and manages cycle count process to support inventory management policies.
Develops plans for new product introduction and end of life for products to be phased out.
Continuously analyze production requirements, schedules and purchasing commitments to achieve company inventory management goals.
Work within documented procurement and planning system that complies with ISO, ATEX, and Sage 100 guidelines.
Provide timely response to all purchase requisitions and non-manufacturing requisitions.
Determine material requirements from engineering and production schedules.
Maintain inventory at planned levels. Review all open purchase orders for reschedule opportunities consistent with good planning techniques, ensuring inventory is maintained at or below planned levels.
Maintain accurate lead times and due dates for purchased inventory and manufacturing orders.
Follow up with purchase orders to ensure shipment as required (expedites and reschedules) and negotiate schedule changes.
Establish quality-oriented supplier relationships and track measurable performance against Quality Assurance standards to include capability of suppliers to satisfy on-time delivery expectations, quality, customer service, and cost.
Continuously assess market conditions which may affect procurement. Recommend procurement, cost, and materials management strategy changes.
Is a member of Material Review Board (MRB) and Supplier Evaluation/Survey teams.
Supervisory Responsibilities:

Technical Skills and Competencies
Experience in use of MRP/ERP systems. SAGE 100 and/or JDE experience desirable.
Working knowledge of MS Office, Word, Excel, Access, Crystal Reports or other data base management tools.
Knowledge of, and experience with, Quality Management Systems including ISO.
Familiar with lean manufacturing techniques.
Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business documents, drawings, technical procedures, and safety regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures.
Understanding of HTS, international tariff rates, logistics, and business requirements.

Education and/or Experience:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent from four-year college or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience in production management and supply chain operations. A varied background that shows versatility and the ability to pivot. Experience managing complex projects. Demonstrates a history of career advancement and increased responsibility.
