IDEX Manufacturing Engineer in Longwood, Florida

Summary:

The Manufacturing Engineer role is an integral member of the team, as the role provides critical technical knowledge. Toptech is a highly fluid and fast paced work environment, individuals are expected to be flexible and have a willingness to adapt to changing priorities. The position allows the individual to work in a comfortable casual team environment with internal and external resources. Individuals will have to think outside the box to come up with solutions to meet requirements our customers have of their automation system.

Specific Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Product drawing maintenance and VA/VE. Experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks, etc.

  • Manufacturing process development.

  • Manufacturing test fixture design and development.

  • Manufacturing minor facilities installation.

  • Manufacturing training.

  • Manufacturing support.

  • Entry of production parts into ERP system.

  • HTS assignment/maintenance.

  • Vendor communication on updated designs.

  • Backup shipping.

Summary Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Performs independent research and development work with project responsibility, to resolve problems with existing products, design product or components or enhancements. Applies engineering principles and techniques to accomplish goals.

  • Assigns or prepares drawings, establishes product standards, directs model development, monitors testing and plan operations, analyzes and reports on results, costs, and develops and contributes new product ideas. Required to use computer-assisted engineering and design software and equipment to perform assignments.

  • Performs or oversees testing programs to ensure products meet design goals.

  • Ensures that component, layout and other specifications are accurate and that all design parameters are compliant with regulatory requirements and consistent with environmental and process factors involved in manufacturing and application.

  • Reviews data collected from manufacturing and applications sources and develops product modifications and improvements to suit requirements.

  • Acts as team leader on major projects.

  • May direct the efforts of technicians or entry-level engineers on assigned projects.

  • Ensures that all product designs and documentation comply with the company quality system.

  • Maintain project responsibility through all phases of program including achieving stable manufacturing and shipment of products.

  • Understands requirements for design and installation of systems in hazardous locations.

  • Able to use computer assisted software and tools in performance of duties.

Education and/or Experience

Bachelor's degree (B. S.) in engineering from four-year college or university with a 3.0 minimum GPA or equivalent combination of relevant education and experience. Three to six years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
