Position Summary:
Advanced Thin Films (ATF) develops and manufactures high-performance optical components for laser markets that are setting the standard for optical coatings for cutting-edge laser systems. The production planner and scheduler is a detail-oriented role tasked with developing and executing the production planning strategy to meet the customer demand of the organization. The candidate will primarily focus on preparing, optimizing, and managing interdepartmental planning and scheduling of supply. Working closely with department and value stream managers, the candidate will plan for current and future needs of the organization. The successful candidate in this role will thrive on a fast-paced and dynamic environment that balances the day-to-day workflow with the longer-term strategic objectives, will be self-motivated and will be required to work unsupervised at times. The candidate will be expected to possess and continually develop a broad spectrum of skills.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Execution of supply chain functions: production planning, capacity planning, inventory planning, and applicable data analytics.
Responsible for the coordination of material flow from raw material locations to production floor in the support of the production schedule.
Assurance of inventory accuracy within the supply chain.
Implementation of daily, weekly, and monthly production plans for manufacturing departments.
Balance of supply and demand planning activities that enable superior on-time, in-full order fulfillment necessary to achieve a second to none customer experience and sales objectives.
Identification of supply and demand gaps and leadership of cross functional supply-demand gap remediation efforts.
Ownership of planning and the scheduling tools in the ERP.
Continuous improvement and maintenance of ERP data for value stream to ensure accuracy and precision in planning.
Ownership of the adherence to schedule reporting and relevant manufacturing performance metrics.
Creation of manufacturing work orders based on demand requirements
Scheduling of equipment and prioritization of work orders
Purchasing of raw materials for active and future orders.
Education / Experience:
B.A./B.S. or equivalent. Supply Chain, Operations, or Materials emphasis preferred.
3+ years related experience in production/capacity planning
Experience with optical component manufacturing desired but not required.
APICS certification desired but not required.
Experience in a high mix, low volume manufacturing environment
Experience in implementing Lean manufacturing practices desired but not required
Experience in capacity planning and constraint-based planning
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Computer proficiency with MS Office applications as well as MRP or ERP systems required
Strong verbal and written communication skills coupled with the ability to work in a team environment is essential
Detail oriented person with very strong organizational skills and an excellent work ethic.
Ability to perform a wide variety of tasks simultaneously
Ability to work effectively without direct supervision
Desire to work well in a fast-paced environment

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $65,700.00 - $98,500.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
