POSITION SUMMARY
Advanced Thin Films is continuing to advance its position as an industry-leading provider of coated laser optics. To support our fast-pace growth, we are looking for a manufacturing engineer with a passion for solving problems, collaborating with teams, and conceive and deploy novel processes. In this role the manufacturing engineer supports production through application of technical skills to optimize manufacturing processes for maximum safety, quality, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness. They will be responsible for effectively identifying opportunities and determining priorities for improvement.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Identifies and drives continuous improvement for coating manufacturing
Creates and manages timelines for projects
Documents all procedures for on-going projects and newly developed processes
Translates customer specifications into procedures to be performed by the value stream
Creates and implements simplified methodology for improved workflow and testing capabilities
Supports the development of the technical skills and the growth of the overall capabilities of the Core Value Stream technical team.
Learns and deploys design methodologies for core value stream products, including the use of industry-standard and IDEX-custom design software platforms.
Uses design platforms to support quotation preparation and new product introduction activities for core value stream customers.
Interacts with various departments that impact production and process to improve safety, quality, and productivity
Establishes, follows, and enforces all safety regulations
Utilizes data analysis techniques to prioritize solutions
Conducts root cause analysis and develops effective countermeasures
Creates metrics to track process capability and improvement
Creates or recommends the creation of drawings for required jigs and tooling as needed
Creates bill of materials and routings for new products in ERP system
Communicates effectively change at all levels in organization

CREDENTIALS AND EXPERIENCE
B.S. or higher in Industrial/Manufacturing Engineering or related field or the equivalence in work experience.
Experience in the field of manufacturing engineering. Familiar with using statistical process control or similar methods.
Experience with business process automation software (Microsoft Office, Salesforce), business productivity tools (Slack, Trello) , and manufacturing engineering software (Solidworks, AUTOCAD, eVSM, Minitab).

Total Rewards
The compensation range for this position is $74,000.00 - $111,000.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
