SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :
The Transportation Account Manager is responsible for identifying, targeting, prospecting, demonstrating, selling and supporting BAND-IT customers across the North America Vehicle Industry. This position contributes to the development of strategic, marketing and tactical plans to profitably grow sales of BAND-IT products to targeted applications across the Global Vehicle Industry. The Account Manager will contribute coordinates and leverages global strategies, capabilities and synergies as part of the Global Transportation Sales team with Global Transportation Sales colleagues and counterparts around the world. This position is located in North America with preference for the Michigan / Midwest region (role is home office based).
REPORTING TO :
Reports directly to Business Line Director – Transportation.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Systematically identifies, documents, and communicates customer and market requirements and opportunities into the organization. Understands, then recommends existing or proposes the development of new engineered application solutions. Follows up to facilitate BAND-IT solution to identified customer requirements, including all aspects of launch and project coordination.
Primary focal point for all aspects of interface and relationship with targeted and existing Transportation customers and prospects in North America including but not limited to:
Maintain, support and grow existing Transportation accounts.
Conduct regular, extensive contact and follow up with existing and new customers, regarding all aspects of the overall business relationship.
Report progress against forecasts, budgets, targets and action plans utilizing CRM and other tools required.
Sell to targeted customers, implement action plans, and report on progress.
Understand and report on customer applications, problems to be solved and opportunities, then propose and present BAND-IT solutions to customers.
Prepare and present presentations about BAND-IT capabilities and solutions to customers and prospective customers.
Coordinate and contribute to the development of Strategic and Annual business plans.
Develop and recommend pricing, quotations and proposals reflecting analysis of all cost and operational factors versus customer expectations, following the appropriate process and approvals.
Maintain an understanding of BAND-IT’s technical, service, support and product capabilities, and products, and communicate same to customers and prospective customers.
Interface with selected customers regarding all product, tool and tool repair problems; follows up regarding customer issues in these areas and leverage the feedback to enhance product development and support for future products and programs.
Services the customer after the sale and production startup to insure satisfaction and to promote future business. Provides customers with information, site visits, service coordination; and visits to help sell and execute specific products or projects.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
Engineering or Business Degree with at least 5 year’s experience in account management / sales to the Automotive markets. Vehicle OEM and / or Tier-One Supplier successful work experience is highly desired.
Candidate must possess excellent initiative and interpersonal communications skills, with demonstrated ability to influence the market and work effectively as part of a global team. Must also possess ability to travel approximately 50% (Air, car, other) of the time both domestically and internationally as required.
