Job Title : Senior Accountant

Hiring Manager : Controller

Mission: The Senior Accountant will primarily be responsible for inventory accuracy and integrity of inventory records for all US locations. This position will also be responsible for reconciling all other balance sheet accounts for our subsidiary in Michigan, as well as assisting with monthly, quarterly, and annual corporate deliverables. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, a keen eye for detail, and a proactive approach to process improvement and automation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Reconcile all inventory balance sheet accounts for two US locations.

• Reconcile other accounts for the subsidiary in Michigan.

• Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports required by Corporate.

• Implement automation tools to enhance efficiency and accuracy in inventory management.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment and support for inventory management initiatives.

• Plan and execute annual physical inventory observations.

• Implement and maintain controls over inventory to ensure accuracy and compliance.

Major Challenges:

• Complex Inventory Systems: Managing and reconciling inventory across multiple locations can be complex and requires meticulous attention to detail.

• Process Automation: Identifying and implementing automation opportunities can be challenging, especially in a dynamic environment.

• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Building and maintaining relationships with operations leadership and other departments can be challenging but is essential for success.

Expected Performance Outcomes:

• Monthly, quarterly and annual closing process completed 100% on time to commit date and accurately.

• Implementation of automation solutions within the general accounting cycle.

Technical Knowledge/Skills:

• Comply with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

• Advanced Microsoft Excel experience is a must.

• Experience with Oracle NetSuite ERP a plus.

Required Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.

• CPA or MBA certification preferred.

• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience, with a focus on inventory management.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Experience with process automation and improvement initiatives is a plus
