Job Title : Manufacturing Supervisor (Third Shift)

A Manufacturing Supervisor at Mott is the frontline leader of a production team that makes very complex and highly reliable products with world class speed and quality. The Manufacturing Supervisor plays a critical role by managing daily manufacturing operations and by also helping implement a continuous improvement roadmap with the Production Managers to decrease lead time, improve quality, and make the company a fun place to work. Success in this role will be measured through improvements safety, quality, lead time, and cost.
Key Responsibilities:
Ensure the Safety of employees through consistent enforcement of Safety policies (including 6S), ensuring and documenting proper training, and constant monitoring for compliance to procedures and policies.
Maintain and improve product Quality by ensuring and documenting proper training, assessing employee competence, and monitoring defect levels.
Achieve on-time Delivery by maintaining proper staffing levels, reassigning employees where needed, and holding employees accountable to hourly output expectations. (Please note that this role may sometimes require overtime in the form of extended hours or weekend shifts.)
Maintain only the desired work-in-process (WIP) Inventory by executing the production schedule, maintaining proper inventory control and identification, and ensuring that employees properly complete the necessary work order transactions
Improve Productivity by ensuring that each employee is adding value throughout the shift and is meeting expected hourly output of Quality product.
Uphold and promote the Mott ABCS.
Major Challenges:
Successful communication across shifts and handoff of tasks
Driving improvements in daily operations while maintain delivery metrics
Rapid fluctuations product mix and volumes in production requires detailed planning
Expected Performance Outcomes:
Safety: Safety issues identified and addressed in a timely manner. Complete and accurate reporting of incidents and near-misses. Zero recordables.
Quality: Zero customer returns due to Quality. 50% year-over-year reduction in workmanship defects. 50% reduction in scrap.
Delivery: 98% production schedule attainment
Inventory: Timely closure of work orders. 99% accuracy of inventory location and quantity.
Cost: 95% labor efficiency versus standards.
Required Experience:
Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 5 years of experience in manufacturing, or 10 years of direct supervisory experience
Proven success in problem solving and completing projects
Technical Knowledge/Skills:
Manufacturing processes and equipment
Technical problem solving
Understanding of lean manufacturing concepts and processes

Possesses a can-do attitude with a dedication to completing priorities
Multi-tasks effectively

Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
