IDEX Shipping Clerk in Denver, Colorado

SUMMARY OF JOB RESPONSIBILITIES :

The Shipper I picks orders utilizing a pick-slip and RF scanner to identify product and location. Product is placed to a cart and/or pallet.

REPORTING TO : Shipping Supervisor / Manager

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Picks customer orders accurately from warehouse stock while maintaining First-in-First-out control

  • Manages lot-controlled product traceability

  • Inserts customer order into proper shipping containers

  • Affixes shipping labels on packed cartons identifying shipping information

  • Assembles cardboard containers or selects preassembled containers

  • Secures packages for shipment by using banding or tape

  • Examines outgoing shipments to ensure all aspects of the shipments meet specifications

  • Operates powered industrial trucks to move, or convey shipments to and from warehouse and work area

  • Maintains warehouse and shipping areas in a neat, clean, and orderly manner in accordance with BAND-IT 5S practices

  • Participates in the continuous improvement process by attending meetings and presenting problems and possible solutions to the appropriate personnel

  • Participates in corrective action meetings to address root cause and identify appropriate actions

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND REQUIRED ABILITIES:

  • Basic familiarity with computers

  • Basic knowledge of label printers

  • Basic Math (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)

  • Knowledge of the operation of material handling equipment

  • Ability to pass BAND-IT’s Powered Industrial Truck certification within 60 days

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

High School Diploma or GED

Order picking and/or RF Scanner experience

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Physical Demands:

  • Majority of the time is divided between standing, stooping, and walking.

  • Lifting requirements are generally less than 25 lbs. Manual lifting could reach the company maximum of 50 lbs.

Work Environment:

  • Exposure to moving, mechanical parts approximately 30% of the time

  • Noise exposure is moderate

  • Minimal exposure to outdoor weather conditions

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Close vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus are necessary to perform the job functions

  • Close vision is required for reading applicable paperwork, generating labels, and labeling shipments.

  • Distance vision is required for picking orders and operating material handling equipment

  • Peripheral vision is required for safety due to traffic in warehouse

  • Depth perception is required for operating powered industrial trucks

COMPENSATION

  • The estimated compensation for this position is $19.50-$21.50/hr DOEThis position may be eligible for an $1000.00 sign on bonus

  • This position may be eligible for a business unit bonus annually

  • This position is also eligible for our comprehensive U.S. benefit offerings, which include Health benefits, 401(k) retirement savings program with company match, at least 80 hours of vacation, along with holiday, sick and personal time off.
