IDEX EMI Technician I in Denver, Colorado

The EMI Technician 1 is responsible for the operation of tie production equipment in the EMI cell. The fundamental duties of this position are to operate the robot cell, passivation equipment, deburr equipment and transfer materials between workstations within the cell.

REPORTING TO : EMI Value Stream Manager


  • Actively support and participate in EHS programs.

  • Actively model IDEX values: Team, Trust and Excellence.

  • Actively participate in continuous improvement activities and initiatives (RIE, 5S, etc.).

  • Actively participates in failure elimination activities such as RCCM (root cause counter measure).

  • Actively participate in the day to day operation of the cell through equipment operation, meeting participation and other duties as required.

  • Operate robots, passivation equipment, deburr equipment, packaging equipment and material handling equipment.

  • Responsible for accurate transfer of materials through cell both physically and through transactions in MRP software.

  • Report production data and information through utilization of Gemba boards, end of shift reports and other means as deemed necessary for the success of the business.

  • Perform quality control checks on parts.

  • Complete work orders in MRP software.

  • Drives towards cell success through recording and monitoring of KPIs.

  • Provide peer to peer mentoring and coaching.

  • Other duties as required.


To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each of the basic requirements satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required.

  • High School Diploma or GED

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Word, Excel, etc.).

  • Knowledge of good manufacturing practices.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of JD Edwards or similar MRP system.

  • Ability to read and interpret drawings.

  • Ability to utilize precision measurement devices such as dial calipers and micrometers.

Essential Functions:

The physical, mental/visual and work environment demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Physical Demands:

  • Time divided between standing and walking.

  • Lifting requirements range from less than 10 lbs. up to the company maximum of 40 lbs. Material handling equipment is available for heavy lifting.

Work Environment:

  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving, mechanical parts approximately 90% of the time.

  • There is exposure to loud noise approximately 90% of the time. Ear protection is furnished and mandatory.

  • There is exposure to vibration at least 60% of the day.

Mental/Visual Demands:

  • Close vision is necessary for parts inspection.

  • Peripheral vision is necessary to monitor manufacturing equipment.

  • Distance vision is necessary to monitor more than one machine at a time.

  • Close listening skills to hear variations in machine noise.

  • Must be constantly alert to machine operation.

  • The estimated compensation for this position is $19.25 - $22.00 per hour

  • This position may be eligible for an $1000.00 sign on bonus

  • This position may be eligible for a business unit bonus annually
