IDEX Sr Manager Group Controllership in Chicago, Illinois

Position Summary

The Group Controllership function supports IDEX business units and finance leaders with regard to all controllership and accounting-related matters. The Senior Manager, Group Controllership is responsible for supporting a collection of IDEX business units as well as other projects and initiatives impacting the entire accounting and finance organization. The Group Controllership function designs and executes monitoring procedures and champions process improvement projects in order to scale processes in support of IDEX’s growth. Group Controllership builds relationships with key personnel across the accounting and finance organization and shares best practices by providing technical guidance and sharing knowledge and expertise. The position will be based out of our corporate office located in downtown Chicago, with a current hybrid schedule of collaborative office days on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays.

Primary Responsibilities

· Provide technical US GAAP guidance and support, including assisting with the maintenance and continuous improvement of IDEX’s global policies and procedures. Common areas of support include inventory valuation, revenue recognition, lease accounting, and local statutory to US GAAP reconciliations.

· Execute and oversee various monitoring controls, such as balance sheet reviews, account reconciliation reviews, financial statement fluctuation analyses, and peer reviews.

· Challenge past practices in order to continuously improve and scale processes across the organization.

· Identify and execute large scale process improvement initiatives impacting multiple, if not all, business units.

· Lead trainings and knowledge sharing courses for the broader accounting and finance organization.

· Execute sub-consolidation-level financial statement analytics in order to assess risk.

· Serve as a coach, mentor, and trusted advisor to business units and finance leaders. Assist with onboarding new hires and provide training and education as needed to address control weaknesses or risk areas.

· Work closely with the Internal and External Audit functions to ensure procedures meet current and future requirements.

· Support open positions at business units through bubble assignments, as capacity allows.

· Travel to business units as necessary to successfully execute the aforementioned items.

· Perform other related duties / special projects as assigned.

Experience / Requirements

· 8 years of progressive Accounting/Controllership experience

o Manufacturing/inventory experience required

o Experience as a Business Unit Controller or Accounting Manager highly desirable

· Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting

· CPA preferred

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

· Experience with OneStream, JDE, and/or CoStar are a plus

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $124,100.00 - $186,100.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
