Summary

The Quality Assurance Technician shall direct the day to day tasks for the Quality Control Inspectors and performs incoming, in-process, and final inspection of all products. This employee ensures the daily shipment requirements are met, maintains the calibration system, and interacts with vendors and auditors as applicable. The individual will also report quality and performance issues as needed.

Essential Job Functions/Responsibilities

  • Directs Inspection daily and assigns work.

  • Inspection of products through incoming, in-process, and finish goods.

  • Understands production process in order to plan ahead and schedule workload.

  • Interprets engineering drawings and customer blueprints to determine quality requirements.

  • Understands gauge calibration and maintains the system.

  • Works with vendors regarding equipment calibration.

  • Records test data and enter into computer.

  • Conducts First Article Inspections and creates reports.

  • Assists with audits from customers and certifying bodies.

  • Performs internal audits to applicable standards.

  • Write Non-Conforming Material Reports.

  • Processes quality system changes per procedure.

  • Understands Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).

  • Working knowledge of applicable standards.

  • Maintains Engineering & Quality Management System records.

  • Supports training to ensure employee competency.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications/Skills

Education/Experience :

Associate degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; or two to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

Language Skills :

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedures, and blueprints. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence and speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization.

Mathematical Skills :

Ability to apply concepts such as fractions and percentages to practical situations.

Must be familiar with the Imperial and Metric systems.

Reasoning Ability :

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
