Position Summary:
In support of our expanding business, we are looking for a thin film equipment engineer to oversee manufacturing equipment related to IBS, E-beam, and other coating chambers to ensure equipment has planned maintenance schedules, work within our FIIX maintenance system, and works directly with our maintenance technicians to assist in troubleshooting equipment issues. This is a hands-on role and requires focus and ability to prioritize tasks in support of production. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Solves equipment problems independently, cross functionally with other engineering and facilities resources, or with third parties.
Identifies, procures, implements, and qualifies new equipment and existing equipment add-on capabilities
Develops and manages process for equipment maintenance and parts replacement.
Creates the appropriate FIIX documentation for equipment preventative maintenance and reaction plans, in partnership with maintenance team, using industry best practices.
Maintains the inventory, storage, and distribution of equipment in partnership with production teams.
Provides recommendations, justification, and qualification for purchases of new equipment.
Collaborates with other appropriate management staff to prepare and implement equipment and spare parts budget.
Troubleshoots, determines root-cause, and addresses equipment issues or problems; prepares lessons learned documentation for all failures requiring multistep troubleshooting.
Creates, defines, and documents maintenance and standard chamber processes and trains staff as needed.
Works with IT as coating chamber equipment software support and is comfortable learning new software programs with an emphasis on software/hardware updates/upgrades as needed by the business.
Supports production team efforts in machine, efficiency, and facility improvements, as necessary.
Supports new construction and facility remodel projects
Support Continuous Improvement events
Share knowledge and disseminate best practices
Become the Subject matter expert on all aspects of coating chambers in our business
Works Hands-on to fix and resolve mechanical issues on chamber equipment
Coordinate vendors to assist in machine up-time
Responsible for promoting a culture of Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Growth.
Other duties/ functions as determined by business need or assigned by the Manager or his/her designate.
Education / Experience:
B.S. or higher in Electrical Engineering or a closely related field or the equivalence in work experience.
Coding experience with Python is a plus.
5 or more years of experience with manufacturing equipment & Coating Chambers.
Requirements :
Must be flexible and able to prioritize the needs of production with ease and positivity.
Ability to hit deadlines with minimal oversight.
Ability to work occasional nights or weekends – typically project or vendor dependent
Willing to travel 5% -10% to other sites for cross site collaboration efforts in chambers
Must have excellent communications skills and experience working within teams of engineers and technicians in a production environment.
Well-developed troubleshooting, problem solving, root-cause determination and analytical skills are a must.
This position may require lawful access to ITAR/EAR controlled information and employees in this role will need to meet those requirements. Requirements include US Citizenship, US Permanent Resident, or ability to meet contract-specific licensure requirements.
Reporting and Location:
This position is based in Boulder, Colorado and reports to the Facility Manager or his/her designate.
Compensation Information:
Salary Range: $100 - 110k annually
Bonus: This position is eligible for company discretionary bonus
