BASIC FUNCTION: Troubleshoots, repairs, installs and maintains production equipment items in cost efficient, energy efficient manner. Designs, constructs and coordinates special projects so they meet requirements for implementation.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Troubleshoot and repair any of Gast’s equipment, machinery, CNC. Repair complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions with support from other maintenance personnel or outside service contractors. Test faulty equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using test equipment or software and applying knowledge of the functional operation of electronic units and systems. Examine work orders and converse with equipment operators to detect equipment problems and to ascertain whether mechanical or human errors contributed to the problems.
Troubleshoot and Repair Building/Equipment Electrical Problems. Perform all electrical work in accordance with the National Electrical Code.
Study blueprints, schematics, manuals, or other specifications to determine installation procedures. Set up and test industrial equipment to ensure that it functions properly.
Use maintenance software (MPulse) to repair/PM equipment and support all projects.
Work with other maintenance personnel which includes training, learning, day to day correspondence, function as a team player, etc. Interfaces with members of other departments, co-workers and outside vendors.
Take a project leadership role. Plans the development, design, and implementation process for all maintenance projects, including electrical control circuits, electrical service, conduit and piping-hazardous locations, etc.
Other miscellaneous duties as required. Perform scheduled preventive maintenance tasks, such as checking, cleaning, or repairing equipment, to detect and prevent problems.
Work with environmental policies to remove hazard waste procedures and clean up procedures of waste. Train to become certified in hazard waste storage and removal.
Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing all types of equipment (CNC. elec., hyd., pneu. mech., etc.). Must have knowledge of a Preventive Maintenance Program. Knowledge to perform all types of Routine Maintenance. Good verbal and written skills. Capable of assisting all types of Projects, dept. moves, machine moves, fabricate benches, conveyors, etc. Must be able to abide by the National Electrical code in regards to all electrical work.
Standard (12 months min on-the –job with Gast)

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of Gast equipment. Demonstrated knowledge and capabilities within a Preventative Maintenance Program. Demonstrated abilities to perform all types of routine maintenance. Practices good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated abilities to perform HVAC systems maintenance and repairs. Helps with the training of Maintenance Apprentice (if applicable). Demonstrated ability to perform all electrical work in accordance to the National Electrical Code.
Skilled (24 months min on-the-job with Gast)
ALL THE ABOVE PLUS
Proven ability to repair the most complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions with minimal support from other maintenance personnel or outside service contractors. Proven ability to use maintenance software. Demonstrates ability to take a project leadership role. Proven ability to work with other maintenance personnel (training, learning, day to day correspondence, function as a team player, etc.)

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:
Two year college degree with apprenticeship or technical certification OR High School Diploma plus equivalent experience.
Experience with electronic testing equipment, CNC machines, all hand and power tools
Lift truck license
Operate computer; fax; copier, and other office equipment
At least five (5) to seven (7) years related experience
