Scope of the role: As a strategic member of GAST’s OEM team, Market Development Manager is responsible for owning and driving growth in Food & Beverage market segment. Market Development Manager is responsible for forging partnerships with large restaurant chains and beverage manufacturers, identifying growth opportunities; building high, wide and deep industry connections; driving new specifications; managing projects start to finish; and ultimately driving profitable growth by focusing on North American Beverage market segment.

The position requires up to 50% overnight travel (primarily US).

ESSENTIAL Responsibilities:

  • Drive profitable growth: Own Beverage market segment—Develop strategic alliances with target customers; understand applications for compressors and vacuum pumps, learn customers’ buying process, develop value proposition, identify target customers and drive growth.

  • Spark Innovation: Build stakeholder relationships with research & engineering, product development leaders within customers’ organization; generate VOC and drive new product development; lead cross-functional teams (engineering, operations, product management and marketing) to accelerate product launches. Get GAST's solutions specified to support customers' new product development.

  • Generate competitive insights: Research market trends; evaluate changing customer needs, capture competitive intelligence such as product & service performance and acceptability.

  • Strategic Planning: Support development of long term strategic plan; develop and execute on annual operating plan to deliver financial results, including orders, revenues, margins, and account receivables.

  • Sales, Customer Support, and Training: Support the long term vision GAST by supporting the development of training tools and programs.

  • Collaborate with other business units to achieve win-win growth

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related technical field strongly preferred

  • 5-10 years of technical business development experience in selling to beverage industry.

  • Deep understanding and experience in qualifying & specifying components in the Beverage Industry.

  • Experience utilizing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) tools is preferred

  • Strong personal leadership and experience working in manufacturing environment

  • Project management experience

  • Highly motivated, self-starter with passion for success and developing relationships with new customers

  • Strong customer centric attitude, business acumen and not afraid of prospecting

  • Strong analytical thinking, organizational and collaboration skills

  • Excellent negotiation and persuasion capabilities

  • Must show initiative, anticipate, and prevent issues by executing advanced problem-solving skills

  • Ability to influence and communicate across all roles and levels both internally and externally
