ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

POSITION FOCUS:

Troubleshoots And Repairs Electrical, Hydraulic And Pneumatic Systems on All Equipment. Record repairs and maintenance performed.

Observe and test the operation of machinery or equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using voltmeters or other testing devices. Analyze test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.

Disassemble machinery or equipment to remove parts and make repairs.

Repair or replace broken or malfunctioning components of machinery or equipment. Repair or maintain the operating condition of industrial production or processing machinery or equipment.

Examine parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear.

Reassemble equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.

Operate newly repaired machinery or equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.

Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one. Determining the kind of tools and equipment needed to do a job.

Perform preventative maintenance and routine tasks on machines and equipment.

Clean, lubricate, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.

Moves And Installs Heavy Equipment For Production.

Fabricates And Installs Secondary Fixtures, Including Safety Guards On All Equipment.

Troubleshoots And Repairs Building/Facility Problems.

Performs Carpentry Or Plumbing Repairs.

Handles the disposal of all Hazard Waste along with the required documentation for disposal:

Operate the Evaporator for optimal operation, required to maintain the used oil location and works with EHS Manager for scheduling and removal of all used oil and Hazard Waste from Gast. Maintain the Hazard Waste building for proper storage of Hazard Waste with all the correct labeling/documentation for proper storage.

Keeps track of Coolant Inventory and all other Oils used at Gast.

Works with outside contractors or under direction of Maint III to perform routine facility maintenance tasks

Starts Up/Shuts Down Air Compressors, Performs Fire System Tests And Level I Maintenance Tasks As Needed. Other Miscellaneous Duties as Required.

Starting

Knowledge of troubleshooting and repairing all types of equipment (elec., hyd., pneu. mech., etc.). Must have knowledge of a Preventive Maintenance Program. Knowledge to perform all types of Routine Maintenance. Must have knowledge of plumbing and carpentry. Good verbal and written skills. Capable of assisting all types of Projects, dept. moves, machine moves, fabricate benches, conveyors, etc. Knowledge of HVAC systems and repairs.

Standard (12 months min on-the –job with Gast)

ALL THE ABOVE PLUS

Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair all types of Gast equipment. Demonstrated knowledge and capabilities within a Preventative Maintenance Program. Demonstrated abilities to perform all types of routine maintenance. Demonstrated abilities to perform plumbing and carpentry repairs. Practices good verbal and written communication skills. Demonstrated abilities to perform HVAC systems maintenance and repairs. Helps with the training of Maintenance Apprentice (if applicable).

Skilled (24 months min on-the-job with Gast)

ALL THE ABOVE PLUS

Proven ability to repair the most complex mechanical and electrical malfunctions with minimal support from other maintenance personnel or outside service contractors. Proven ability to work with other maintenance personnel (training, learning, day to day correspondence, function as a team player, etc.)

  • Persons occupying this position will be expected to sign an Employee Inventions and Proprietary Information agreement. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS OR EQUIVALENCIES:

  • High School Diploma. Preferred Industrial Electrician’s License (not a requirement), Machine Repair Apprenticeship or Equivalent Experience.

  • Lift Truck License

  • Operate Computer; Fax; Copier, And Other Office Equipment

  • At Least Three To Five Years Related Experience
