Lead and facilitate the successful implementation of Continuous Improvement (CI) with sustaining impact to drive business performance across the enterprise at Gast Manufacturing. Directly responsible for Operations support team, and implementation of organization-wide, transformational process improvements. Focus areas for improvements are Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost, and Growth/Innovation. The position will lead the training of Lean principles (5S, RIE/Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, 80/20, Standard Work, Transactional Process Improvements, Quick Changeover, Material Kanban, Variation Reduction/Six Sigma, Quality, etc.) while driving results in automation and assembly efficiencies through Kaizen. Demonstrate effective leadership by driving strong engagement through positive employee relations, integrity, talent development, accountability, and safety/ergonomics within the Gast organization.


  • Subject Matter Expert (SME) and trainer of CI tools (Mixed Model Lean, Six Sigma, SIOP, Sourcing, GDP, and KPIs)

  • Works to grow revenue & profit by delivering strong operational performance (SQDC)

  • Lead efforts to identify opportunities for automation and implementing automation projects

  • Utilize 80/20 methods, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma tools to drive focus on critical items to yield the highest impact on the organization

  • Establish CI Roadmap that deploys actions to achieve strategic goals

  • Drives consistency and effective adoption of CI deployment in all areas

  • Implement problem-solving principles to identify the root cause and corrective actions

  • Will help develop and maintain operational excellence and Quality KPI’s and countermeasures

  • Hands-on the participant of the Continuous Improvement/Kaizen processes by leading Rapid Improvement Events (RIE’s)

  • Support Goal Deployment Action Plans and improvement targets for the enterprise

  • Build trust and credibility by leading by example

  • Create regular communications with the value stream and vertical businesses (clear direction, regular updates on events/decisions, and accountability for achieving & sustaining RIE results)


  • Proactive possess a strong sense of ownership and drive to success utilizing available resources Must be comfortable working under pressure with a reliable problem-solving methodology

  • Ability to motivate and drive others to deliver results

  • Well organized must have the ability to address tactical issues in the short-term while maintaining a long-term project plan

  • Excellent communication/presentation skills (written and verbal)

  • Integrity, trust, and interpersonal savvy

  • Ability to work successfully in a multi-cultural environment

  • Collaboratively partner and leverage leadership, influencing skills, mentoring/developing abilities, and driving accountability


  • BA / BS within an engineering-type discipline, or technical degree; advanced degree preferred

  • 4+ years of production experience and managerial experience preferred

  • Strong continuous improvement background with knowledge of 5S, Kaizen, Lean, and Value Stream Mapping

  • Able to ID large cost centers in order to systematically drive improvement and to obtain organizational goals

  • Background with selection and implementation of automated equipment

  • Hands-on responsibility for manufacturing product quality

  • Advanced understanding of ISO and Quality Management Systems

  • Six Sigma Greenbelt Preferred

  • Results-based approach to developing and implementation of productivity funnel through the utilization of Kaizen

  • Working knowledge of CI tools (Mixed Model Lean, Six Sigma, SIOP, Sourcing, GDP, and KPIs)
