IDEX Value Stream Manager in Albuquerque, New Mexico

The Value Stream Manager is responsible for managing the continuous improvement of the product family value stream. Applies current and future state value stream methodology to optimize material flow and reduce inventory throughout the value chain. Works together with the full operations team to identify and reduce waste to improve lead times, OTD, and quality through the use of lean manufacturing and 8020 principles. Additionally, the Value Stream Manager is responsible for:

  • Develops plans and metrics for value stream transformation.

  • Develops current and future state VS (Value Stream) maps for assigned product families.

  • Utilizes Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma tools to create one-piece flow and demand pull process throughout, eliminate non-value added activities and defects, reduce process variation.

  • Leads or participates in Rapid Improvement Events to drive VS improvements.

  • Leads daily team meetings to ensure alignment and focus with a drive to improvement of appropriate VS metrics (e.g. S afety, Q uality, D elivery, C ost, productivity).

  • Maintains VS boards and holds functional meetings to communicate company information as needed.

  • Create standard work procedures and visual controls to manage VS’s.

  • Trains and develops operators in the successful practice and adherence of VS process

  • Work with functional leaders to provide appropriate staffing, equipment, resources and safety measures for your team.

  • Leads with the principles of servant leadership.

  • Understands and balances the "voices" of the customer, business, employee and supplier to meet company objectives.

  • Performs other duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL ACTIVITIES REQUIRED TO PERFORM ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Communicate by speech and listening via phone, electronically and in person

  • Write by hand and input by keyboard

  • Ability and willingness to travel by car and plane

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds occasionally, movement within office and manufacturing complex

  • Visual acuity needed for close detail work and computer use

JOB CONDITIONS

  • Manufacturing and general office environment

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business or Engineering with at least one (1) year demonstrated success in manufacturing supervision

  • OR Associates Degree in Business or Engineering with at least three (3) years demonstrated success in manufacturing supervision

  • OR At least five (5) years demonstrated success in manufacturing supervision

  • Demonstrated Green Belt level knowledge of Six Sigma and Lean processes, tools, and one piece flow

  • Demonstrated leadership and team building skills

  • Demonstrated computer literacy especially working with Microsoft Office and ERP systems

  • Ability to understand and apply basic cost accounting concepts

  • Demonstrated mechanical aptitude and knowledge of manufacturing processes

  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills

  • Demonstrates drive and ability to create highly engaged teams, creating an environment where employees feel empowered to create change for the betterment of the organization.

This position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations; this person must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.
