IDEX Trade Compliance Coordinator in Albuquerque, New Mexico

Job Summary

Under the direction of Import/Export Manager or Supervisor, the Trade Compliance Coordinator is responsible for performing a broad range of activities to support import /export operations and the compliance program at CVI Albuquerque. The candidate will have some experience with imports, exports, internal audits, classifications, providing training and overall business processes for trade compliance operations. The Trade Compliance Coordinator has a vital role in properly supporting CVI and providing outstanding customer service to internal stakeholders. This position has lots of opportunity for growth.

This job position requires compliance with ITAR Regulations. Therefore, all employees working in this capacity must meet citizenship status. Per the CVI Laser, LLC Export Controls Policy and Procedure, the employee must be a U.S. Citizen or a U.S. Permanent Resident.


-Ability to work independently with little supervision

-Reconcile daily imports and exports

-Work with brokers to revise import or export documents as deemed necessary

  • Assign and document HTS (harmonized tariff schedule) classifications

-Work with technical resources to assign and document ECCNs (export control classification number)

-Review end use statements and provide approvals to shipping team

-Monthly reporting of metrics and internal audit checks to trade compliance manager.

-Provide and document training on compliance processes to various departments throughout the site

-Provide support to other sites as necessary

-Update, revise and create trade compliance policies

-Attend company held trainings, conferences and seminars 2-3 times a year.

-Other duties as required by hiring manager


Preferred Education: Bachelor’s degree in business, economics, law, trade or related area (or related experience)

Required Experience: minimum of 1 year of related experience

Preferred Experience: Basic understanding of international trade regulations, duties, experience with ISO, use of an ERP system, reading technical drawings

Required Skills: generation of reports, reconciliation, excellent verbal and written communication skills

Technical Skills: Microsoft Office, MS PowerPoint, Outlook Email (preferred), English 100% oral / written
